Mary Knows Football

Now that I have reclaimed my health, my dignity, and my soul from the most wretched place on the planet – Columbus, Ohio – it’s time to make some picks for a weekend that will allow ‘Canes fans to relax and recharge because the following are games that most of us care nothing about.  Enjoy your bye week, Miami, and rest assured that this Saturday, you will not be crying alone in the middle of the night in a hotel room wondering why God has forsaken your beloved ‘Canes.

BYU vs. FSWho:  FSWho

After being completely obliterated in Norman last weekend, the criminoles look to redeem themselves against the BYU Cougars in Trailerhassee on Saturday.  Last week the Cougars lost to Air Force with their dual QB system failing miserably with BYU only passing for 88 yards with QB Nelson in the second half of the game – the lowest total since 2003.  In addition, both QBs gave up turnovers last week.  The Cougars have no running offense either so FSWho’s pathetic defense could actually have a shot here.  Last year, after FSWho suffered a humiliating EPIC FAIL home loss on Labor Day to YOUR BELOVED MIAMI HURRICANES, they were able to pull it together to defeat No. 7 ranked BYU 54-28.  Look for Christian Ponder and the ‘Noles offense to finish what they started last year and improve on the things that sunk them last week. Convert on 3rd downs, finish the drives, limit penalties and turnovers and this game is the criminoles for the taking just like some free shoes.

10 Floriduh vs. Tennessee:  Tennessee

Yes, in between getting arrested for threatening to kill their girlfriends, the Floriduh crocs still have a football team. Sort of.  It just won’t star starting WR Chris Rainey.  Unless Urban Cryer has a change of heart, which is entirely possible with his track record of “strict” punishment for the felons . . . er, players on the team.  A tight end who, to my knowledge, has not seen the inside of the Alachua County Jail yet will be filing in for Rainey while he sits in time out. LT Xavier Nixon is also expected back and will be making the trip with the rest of the inmates . . . er, players to Knoxville.

On to Rocky Top:  Thus far, 1-1 Tennessee’s offense has been focused on the run with an average of 257 yards per game, ranking second in the SEC behind Auburn. However, Vols QB Matt Simms has potential and should not be discounted. He has thrown one interception this season – against Oregon – that was returned for a TD, but before that bad throw Simms had completed 11 of 20 for 143 yards and no sacks.  Look for him to connect to WR Denarius Moore with veteran Gerald Jones out with a broken hand.  Floriduh has scored 48 points on turnovers this season, but that was against teams like Miami of Ohio and USF – both of which, Floriduh struggled with before pulling out a W.  The key to the game will be controlling the time of possession and giving the crocs little time on the field (similar to last year) and the Vols have the perfect weapon to achieve this feat:  junior tailback Tauren Poole, who leads the conference in rushing with 136 ypg.  So, I urge you all to don that gross pukey orange color on Saturday at 3:30pm and cheer on Derek Dooley to a win in his inaugural game against a hated rival.

6 Texas vs. Texas Tech:  Texas Tech

The Longhorns take time off from playing scrimmages against the children of the poor this weekend for a road trip to Lubbock to face the Red Raiders.  This game is always a test for Texas as Mack Brown is only 3-3 in his last 6 games in Lubbock and the Longhorns are only 9-9 there since 1974.  This year should prove to be no exception with Tech’s fierce offensive attack.  The Raiders average 334.5 passing yards per game, which is good for 11th in the nation. The offense is led by QB Terry Potts, who blew up against New Mexico with 293 yards with 3 TD and 0 INT. He has a couple of great WR options in Lyle Leong and Detron Lewis, who are each averaging over 13 yards per reception.  This matchup favors Tech as the Longhorns’ secondary has not played great and last week they allowed Wyoming to gain just under 200 yards in the air.  The key to the game for Tech is their offensive line.  The Longhorn’s pass rush is no joke and Tech really doesn’t have much of a defense so they will need to score early and score often and hope the Lubbock crowd intimidates QB Gilbert and the rest of the Longhorn offense.

12 Arkansas vs. Georgia:  Arkansas

That is not a typo.  The Arkansas Razorbacks are ranked 12th in the country (Remember when we were? Sigh.) and are looking good. My grandpa would be proud.  Bobby (don’t wear a croc hat to my press conference) Petrino and the Hogs take a trip to Athens after winning their first two games by a combined 75-10 score.  QB Ryan Mallett has been impressive in both, completing 73.1 percent of his passes for 701 yards and six touchdowns. The junior had 400 yards and three TDs in last Saturday’s 31-7 victory over Louisiana-Monroe.  One reason for concern is turnovers – the Hogs committed three in each win and can’t afford to do that against Georgia.  The second is that Arkansas’ top running back/kick returner is out and Georgia receiver AJ Green could make his season debut if his four game suspension is reduced (Green sold his game-worn jersey for $1,000 after UGA’s bowl game last year).  Green had 53 receptions for 808 yards and six touchdowns in 2009 despite missing all or part of five games with injuries. He caught seven passes for 137 yards and two TDs in last season’s 52-41 win at Arkansas.  The Dogs are lobbying for the suspension to be cut to two games and this could give UGA some strength to pull this out.

But don’t count on it.  The key to this game is the UGA’s’ defense – it is suspect, at best.  Last week its run defense was exposed by Marcus Lattimore in the loss to South Carolina.  Look for Mallett to embarrass the Dogs further.  Petrino has built a dynamic offense around Mallett. The Razorbacks have their top five pass-catchers back from last season, including D.J. Williams, the NCAA leader among active tight ends in career receptions (106) and career receiving yards (1,340). Also, the starting wide receivers — 6-foot-3 Greg Childs and 5-11 Joe Adams — have combined for 25 catches for 386 yards in Arkansas’ first two games.  If you want to see some awe-inspiring throws, tune into this game and check out Heisman-hopeful Mallett pull out a win in enemy territory.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to call 911 because of this curious text message I just received.  ”Time to die?”  What? What area code is 352?

I hope to see you next week, ‘Canes fans, where I will tell you all the reasons the ‘Canes are destined to destroy the Pittsburgh Panthers.  GO ‘CANES!!!

  1. JSQ Floriduh and Texas both win IMO

  2. We’ll see, Shwarma. Gotta throw some underdog picks and croc jokes in there to keep it interesting!!! :-)

  3. I hate both uif and ut…but I’d donate a weeks salary to eoth if the big orange wins this week…lol…I promise…I’ve NEVER EVER pulled for ut in my life….lol

  4. Lesser of two evils, Nash.

And just make your check payable to “Mary Clark’s tailgating fund.” ;-)

  5. This is one of my favorite installments of MKF.

    Love it!

  6. Thanks, Mike. I might be funnier with a fever. I’m pretty sure I was a riot at the tailgate Saturday and I was sick as a dog, then.

I’m starting to feel immense gratitude I got out of that place alive!

Did you guys know they make Fins M&Ms? Making a stadium cake for someone’s tailgate and I was able to get the real aqua and orange plus aqua food coloring, too! :-)

  7. JSQ, are you going to pick against UF all season til they lose? had me laughing with that one. I don’t think Tennessee will beat ‘em. Never know though.

    and thanks bg.

    Johnson

I think #78 can handle it. Yes he’s young but what Figs has in experience does not trump #78′s athleticism and ability to also deal with speed guys. Speed guys are going to give Figs problems just like they did this weekend unless he has a TE or RB chipping to help him.

    >>>>>>

That’s a strong look right there. I think that’s what Este had.

I’d rather have one straight steel side and let Figs and Gunn rotate inside of JJohnson.

Hopefully Shannon sees the same thing.

UF boys are on roids. It’s one thing to sweet talk recruits but it’s a whole nother level to fuk with kids bodies like that.

  10. Esteban,

    Yes. With gusto!

  11. Good job Mary!

I agree with all your picks just not sure about the Texas Tech/Texas game but I not seen either play.

Had an insane day and the traffic today was just ridiculous.

    Go Canes!!!!

  12. Very good Mary, yes Dad would be proud.

I don’t know. Maybe it’s just wishful thinking. But I’m feeling that the crocs are going to get rogered roundly at Tennessee. Either way, I’m with jello, I’m picking against them all your long. That’s a 3 month sucker i’m working on.

…and now for a little amusement to go with your evening beverage.

Warden meyer thinks that maybe now “after a while, enough is enough”. I guess 30 is the magic number. Twenty-nine is ok, but thirty? Maybe that’s the tipping point for the most insincere and dishonest coach in CFB. Additionally, the scurban is setting the stage for Rainey returning: “Meyer has declined to give a minimum suspension length or say what needs to happen for Rainey to rejoin the Gators…. ‘I did speak with him and he’s very angry and disappointed that the whole thing happened’ “. Sounds like Urban is saying the kid’s sorry. Shoot, he’s suffered enough. He’s mad at himself. Maybe a one or two game suspension?

What’s the over/under on how many games ’til he’s back? I’ve got two…he comes back for bamalama

  15. I would have to agree. 2 games

  16. It’s nice to see an ACC team winning, even if it is against the Big East

  17. IMO when you insult teams with terms like “Floriduh” and “Trailerhassee” and insult young student athletes and call them “felons” it really takes away from an intelligent and informative post and is quite offensive to everyone.

The blogging community does not need to read constant insults like the ones mentioned because you NEVER know who might be reading and we wouldn’t want to come off in a bad light now would we.

I am highly offended and I am sure if a student or employee or fan of those fine universities were to read these insults they would be highly offended as well. I would like the bashing of other universities and their student athletes to cease immediately.

    Sincerely,
    A very concerned blogger

    Touche’ BYTCHEZ!!!!

  26. I’m too sick to make a comment here even though I really wish I could…

    I’m going back to bad.

Maybe I’ll dream of being healthy and pus*y :-)

  27. Atleast I wasn’t the one “nappin” in the middle of tailgating LOL!

    Whaaaaaaa. ;)

    GO CANEZ!!!!!

  28. I will drink my orange and green kool aid and bash the crocs and noles until my last breath, dude. It’s a double standard. It’s hypocritical.

  32. Canez1, you going to be down here for Thanksgiving? I think I missed that from our emails today.

  33. Ahhhh…..

Pu$$y. A word that crosses all ethic, cultural, and generational barriers.

    And now…….I’m hungry.

  34. Hey, hurriphin, I have something you can eat . . .

And on that note, I’m out!

  35. I miss Sh!thead.

  36. As for the defense, the defense that defense was the same defense that was used against osu in the fiesta bowl. Who cares if pryor ran for over 100 yards, that didn’t really hurt us, just like krenzel running for those yards didn’t really hurt us, it was those 5 turn-overs against osu that kept the min that game, just like it was the 4 turn-overs last weekend that kept osu in the game and in the lead. shannon and lovett or just lovett did a nice job as has been the case since last year. I saw alot of good things from this defense last year, and knew teams would have a hard time scoring on us this year, only with precise execution, spence in pass coverage, that was just a real good pass from pryor and a real good catch from saine, at least spence was their and tried to make a play, unlike dvd, than spence almost came right back and got his own touchdwon, would’ve had to out run pryor.

As far as whipple. The problem i saw with the offense, is the same problem i saw last year in those tightly heated contest. Nothing to fall back on when things get ruff. It’s not neccessarily the plays that are called, it’s when they are called that bothers me with whipple. His best called game thus far was against Fsu, and even in that game he called a few offensive series that had my head scratching. Case in point, on the 1st interception, why did all the receivers basically run the same route, nobody went over the top, whipple was expecting a blitz and got zone blitzed, but even with a blitz, had hankerson run a stop and go he would’ve been wide open. torrence couldn’t cover benjamin and was giving him all the cushion in the world, he was pretending like he was being aggressive out their.

It seemed to me that whipple was basically wanting to throw short passes the whole 1st half and than go deep in the 2nd half, but when he gets caught off guard by something, he gets flustered real quick. If osu was able to get their runningback in a 1 on 1 situation with spence, why did whipple not scheme to get one of osu’s linebackers in a 1 on 1 situation with miller.

If osu is saying this team is better than their championship team, their in trouble. I wasn’t impressed by osu myself. They did nothing special, their offense got shutdown by us as far as i’m concerned, that was clear. If osu played alabama in the championship game, their going to get beat, especially if alabama has trent and ingram, with julio jones and maze, their going to force osu to stop the run and than go over the top. If we could run on osu, i’m sure alabama will be able too as well. Although i’m still not so sure this osu team is going undefeated, they can’t pass the ball consistently.

whipple right now agains is 0 FOR against the better d-coordinators. What is the identity of our offense, “it’s schizo” it’s good to be wild, free and fancy, but with all great teams, they have that bread & butter offense that they can fall back on. We got to many receivers where we didn’t allow them to use their speed to put pressure on the osu secondary. That’s all on whipple to see the in game mismatches and than exploit them. osu saw that they would have a chance to run that shuffle play, they waited to call it, and than bam, it was the right call at the right time, and it produced good results for them.

I know this much, if soldinger was the oc, we’d be a run the ball down your throats type team, as well as have receivers running all kind of routes that took advantage of their advantages. whipple needs to understand that better. That is definitely the one common thread i see between whipple and nix, is not having the right personel in on certain plays. While damien berry is a top notch back, i would have loved to see us go unbalanced line with lamar miller to as well, on that one play where berry broke for about 40 yards, if that was lamar miller that’s a touchdown had he gotten to the corner like that.

While i understand the debate, to me it’s simple, whipple just needs to stay aggressive, but have some type of rythm with this offense, who cares if the other team knows we’re going to snap the ball on 2, let’s see if they can stop it 1st than find out if we need to change it up. I’m still trying to figure out why we got offensive linemen lined up out their with wide receivers. Reminds me of that play last year with the washington redskins where they tried that crap i think against the new york football giants on a monday night and got demolished on that play, the thing that got me was, why was it necessary to use a timeout. If i’m a defender i’m laughing saying ok, this fat mofo is not going to out run me and he’s not going to be able to block but 1 person, ok, i got this, that’s why osu didn’t move or use a timeout, because it was a stupid play, that’s not UM football, and it showed that whipple thought he had to run something like that, in his mind he didn’t even give his offensive guys the opportunity to drive it down field on regular plays 1st, instead all that shuffling around did was force us into 3rd and long, with an interception.

whipple didn’t come out and scheme well against v-tech last year, i rememeber after that game how we were all talking about guys running to many long routes when the blitz was obvious, now whipple running to many short routes, when our speed advantage was obivous. 1 time over the top to leonard hankerson, 1 time over the top to travis benjamin and i think 1 time over the top to laron byrd. In a game like that, the long interceptions are what we want.

  37. LOL I left with 7 mins left in the 4th. It was time to bust out of that dump. We both had enough.

Ya we will be down the week of Thanksgiving. I think we are arriving Tues or Wed. Not positive. We will have to get everyone together one night for dinner.

Sara loves Shulas so that has to happen. We will be staying at the Atlantic again and there is a Shulas right down the street.

Can’t wait. I should be completely fried from work by then so a vaca will be just what I need.

    Can’t wait!

    GO CANEZ!!!!!

  38. Calvin, great points on the personnel match ups.

  39. September 16, 2010 at 9:10 PM

Hey, hurriphin, I have something you can eat . . .

    (Gasp)

    (Sigh)

    (Doooooooooing!!!!!!)

    THUD.

  40. Cool, Canez1, I think my Thanksgiving plans are a little iffier right now than I thought when we talked earlier that day so my only obligation that weekend is tailgate prep. We can definitely get together. I like Shulas too. There is a good steakhouse up here as well, Cut 432 on Atlantic Avenue if you want to look it up. There is also a great Mexican place in Boca that is halfway between us. Lots of good options! Looking forward to seeing you guys!!! Thinking of going to NYC right before the holidays now as well. Will you guys be around?

  41. I’m with Cal,

If you’re gonna throw a pick, might as well make it like a punt.

  42. Those deep outs were their all game, and dvd, what the hell was he thinking coming up on that play and letting posey go scott free like that, had dvd done his job, he would’ve been able to slow posey down and ray ray would’ve more than likely gotten over their, just a bad read by dvd and it didn’t give ray ray enuff time to get the proper angle, because pryor was throwing that ball that way irregardless, otherwise bailey had the sack.

I don’t blame u Canez1 for rolling out in the 4th, nothing worse than watching a more talented team give a game away. I wasn’t as frustrated this game because it wasn’t for the national championship, but had that been for all the marbles, i would’ve been pissed. Should shannon have gone in the locker room and be happy with only being down by 6 points on the road after 2 interceptions already, more than likely in hindsight, as a headcoach, at times, you have to know when to hold em, no when to walk away, the chances of something going wrong in that environemtn did go wrong, and it cost us, but shannon more than likely won’t take to many chances with this team right before the half like that again until they’ve earned execution trust!

  43. Lol, Hurriphin

  44. CanesCanesCanes says:

    .
Coach tore his players a new a$$hole in the lockeroom after the game. That’s usually not his style, but he went in there and really lit into them for about ten minutes. Supposedly he jumped down everybody’s throats. Well done, coach. Like a puppy, when they piss the floor you have to rub their noses in it. I think, hope, they take it to heart and take it out on Pitt.

  45. You got it backwards bg1906. Most of Baileys production came BEFORE he moved to DE. I’m not saying he might not be a better DE than DT but so far his best “stats” have come from the DT position.

“If not for a late-season slump last year, Bailey might be walking around with a couple of those trophies right now. He registered all of his sacks and 10.5 of his 11 tackles for losses in UM’s first eight games. Over the Hurricanes’ final five games, Bailey’s numbers read: 0 sacks, .5 tackles for loss.

A steady diet of double-team blocking left Bailey “frustrated a little bit.” Bailey also had to deal with moving from defensive tackle to end at mid-season. ”

Jorge Milan PBP after the media day this year^^^

I remeber bringing this up this year and having a discusuion about it. Doesn’t mean he didnt have ANY sacks at DE. Also he was voted all ACC by Phil Steele and others at DT. FWIW

  46. I’m just ripping on Canez1, I left in the 4th too, a few minutes after we scored. The game was over by the time we got to the parking lot. We barely made it out of there. What a freaking nightmare that game was.

I don’t know how some of you can watch that game over and over. I think I would rather watch the wedding of an ex boyfriend that broke my heart.

None of the dudes I have dated have ever married (does this mean something? Hmmm…) but I think it’s a good metaphor. Both sound nauseating.

  47. Wait, you are really supposed to rub the puppy’s nose in it?

Sebastian’s in home puppy kindergarten teacher said not to.

She sort of looked like Bill Clinton with bigger boobs but she said that is cruel.

    Hmmmm

  48. Hurri, had jacory thrown the type of picks he did against unc, that would’ve been more satisfying to me, i’m not mad at those picks he threw against unc, it’s the returns after the picks that cost us. We did a way better job of our offense becoming defenders after the picks against osu, seems like all the practice they had last year paid off last game. I’m sure we have the best tackling team and lead the nation in tackles after interceptions.

The more i watch the highlights from that game the more irritated i get knowing the more talented team lost. You could see it clear as day which team had the most talent. The difference with osu, they wanted to run the ball, but couldn’t except with pryor. I’ve never seen a game where in 3rd and 12, ohio st. had more confidence picking that up than we did in 3rd and 5, why, because ohio st. went to their bread and butter, stretch the defense and let pryor make a decision and head for the sticks, nothing fancy, just putting your offensive players in the best position to succeed.

whipple on the other hand, spends to much time with his head buried in his playbook and not realizing he’s calling some good plays, don’t look for to much knew stuff, just go to the sidelines, let the offensive players know that play just worked, we’re coming back to it, if we execute it right, they won’t be able to stop it. Instead whip keeps searching for play after play, not realizing if he calls the same play in another offensive series he have the same success, simple things like that go a long way in winning games.

  49. Actually i think bailey on the inside is more effective on stunts, that’s where his 4.6 speed is more effective, especially against running qb’s, that’s how he got that sack on tyrod taylor at d-tackle and that’s how he got to ponder, the reason being, most qb’s that can run don’t care much about a defensive tackle breaking free, they know they got em beat, with bailey, he’s just picking up steam and next thing the qb knows, bailey is on them fast, that’s when it’s not normally. He’ll never be a 4.6 defensive end.

  50. BIG DADDY CANE says:

Maybe Whip needs to read your post Calvin..or watch film over and over and see what bone head mistakes he is making. That first play reminded me of when we got on Nix on being more aggressive. He lined up 4 wr s and basically had the Qb sit back there and throw it deep on the first few plays of that game. Whip tried to be creative but lack the MOJO as a cordinator to do it long term. Shoot if we had Bosie State Oc we would of threw up and down the field because that man aint scared to light teams up….Whip just need to re-evaluate his own decisions and we’ll be a better team because of it… now on the other hand Lovette sees what he has and do the best with it. He progresses while whip spins in circles sometimes. I hope whip gets better starting with Pitt next week…Also if he stays true to his word that he told Shockey after the game then we’ll defintely see improvements from him…it starts at the top.

  51. Ya I think we are getting in on Wed. We will figure something out.

Def let us know when you head up this way. We do NYC right. No worries there. A ton of amazing places to eat and drink and not too many sofla like douchebags skankin up the joint.

    Hurri LMAO!!!

Cal no doubt. I was ready to bust out long before that but decided to hang tough. We hustled back to the truck and blasted back to the hotel to avoid fighting our way through 90,000 redneck hillbillies. F that!

    GO CANEZ!!!!!

  52. Lots of good points, Calvin.

If I could bring myself to look at the game again, I would go back and look for myself.

And I just threw up at the thought.

I’ll leave that to you guys.

Sh!t breaks my heart. Still a little in denial that it happened. Especially since no one (coworkers, friends, parents) have talked about the loss with me. Only you guys and the people I was there with. Still not entirely real. Sigh.

    Bring on Pitt. This sucks!

  53. Looking forward to NYC Canez1/Sarah style!!! :-)

  54. It’s quite obvious B Kelly no longer coaches this Cincy team. They don’t even look like the same team. Dude is a GREAT coach and a difference maker.

On the other hand ND looks like a completely different team under him. Immediate inpact!

Gotta give the dude some props. He is a badazz.

    GO CANEZ!!!!!

  55. Jesse Palmer is annoying. And he’s too pretty. It’s not attractive. Shut up!

  56. Cincy definitely sucks but I think ND sucks too. Just sayin.

  57. I’m over the howling. Our traditions are way cooler.

  58. JSQ, is Truth gonna come out of this illness alive?

    Feel for the guy

  59. I couldn’t imagine tricking out all that money for that trip and game tickets, then we get dragged like that.
I’d have to steal on one of those Bucks.
    Just principle.
That’s why I’m going to the Duke game. I know its gonna be as boring as sh!t, but at least I won’t be riding 8 hrs for a loss.

    (I hope)

    Let’s go Blandy……JaFOURy…….Yawn Telemaque, ect.

  60. Mike, Truth has pnemonia and sounds like he swallowed a cactus but he will be okay. He’s a ‘Cane.

Hurri, no doubt. I wish I could have that $1,000 back!!!

  61. Kelly is a good coach. When he gets all his own kids entrenched in that program, they’ll be a steady BCS team.

  62. I’ve had my eye on NCST and their QB ever since they knocked the hell outta us a couple years ago. Wilson has the goods. If they can get past FSU, they’ll come out of the Atlantic.

  63. Jessie Palmer ain’t the worst commentator, but he certainly is a geeky little gator pu$$y.

  64. Yawn Telemaque!!!! LMFAO!!!! I love it!

I wish it was just $1,000. That’s how much my tix cost……

Time for bed. I have to get up early to make some of that money back! LOL

    GO CANEZ!!!!!

  65. Roflol @ calvin saying all the practice they got running down ints last yr help vs osu….CUM ON MAN!!!

  66. I’m glad shannon went off on the team after that lost, that’s what is suppose to happen. Also, after that game, all i could think of was, how many crab walks and 110′s and hell will shannon put jacory thru for giving that game away. shannon was all calm at the press conference but i know he was like jacory will get tortured this week, that’s all jacory needs, he doesn’t need a back-up to push him what he needs to know is, every time he turns the ball over, he’s going to pay for it come practice time come hell or high water until he gets it in his brain to protect the ball at all cost.

I kept thinking, i know Canez1 is sick being in all that red and having to see jacory throw pick after pick and than fluzzi and his crew, no excuses we got enough depth out their on special teams. eduardo clements just like he said would play special teams just to get on that field and he’s doing it, will only make him a better player.

jsq, don’t worry about that osu game, they didn’t beat us, we beat ourselves and that’s the thing that irritates me, but i can’t get mad no more at this team for not having talent. Gone are the days where seeing us out talented, so shannon has done a real good job at bringing in good talent. Now the talent that’s going to take us over the top, we’ll see. I do need coach lovett to get more aggressive when he has other teams in 3rd and long, hell send dvd’s skinny azz in on a qb blitz, that way he doesn’t have to cover and get exposed. But to much zone on 3rd and longs, hoping the oppossing qb makes a mistake. Hell, stay in cover 2. and blitz from that.

jacory knows it’s all on him now, everything else is set.

  67. nashville, lol, it must’ve man, cause i’m still trying to figure out how hankerson hit chee wa-wa out of bounds that quick. Oh yeah, i know, whipple keeps having all the receivers run patterns like they running suicides on a basketball court(everybody touching the same lines). I’m not sure what that’s all about but whipple’s oc status is on the line, if you can’t score points at Miami, “Chances Are” you won’t score to many points elsewhere either.

  68. ok, for og cup cakes and if anybody else want to get their mind off of the osu game!
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zzxKswpRFY

  69. they asked Pat Forde on the local DC station up here today about the ACC. said the only team that didn’t hurt the league’s image was Miami since Miami basically beat itself. Otherwise they come out the horseshoe with that win.

  70. Este, the Miami Hurricanes are not high on his list, so that’s a compliment in my book

  71. wow, so the experts are not jumping off the bandwagon?

maybe most of us should pay attention. This season ain’t over, there’s a ton to play for. The players and coaches won’t lose the sight of that fact.

  72. we just can’t continue to play on offense like we are down 21 with 2 minutes left in the game when there is still 13 minutes left in the 3rd quarter and we are down 10. that’s what bothers me most about our offense at times. Might be that there was no sense of urgency earlier in the game so its over compensated for after we are down some, but composure gets lost when that’s the case.

  73. I hear ya, Este.

Whip not’s perfect, but the play-calling can definitely improve. It’s not been terrible or Nix-like, but it needs to improve.

Would like to see UM become a run-first offense.

  74. It plays to our strengths, IMO, being run-first.

  75. esteban on the money once again, and that compusure you talking about, i don’t see that coming from whipple in games like these, all you see is him flippin thru pages which is a sign that he’s searching, an oc that has confidence in his playbook doesn’t have to go thru page after page, whip seems like he never gets into a flow of what he wants to do. If the oc is not comfortable, than the whole offense will look out of wack several times. After this lost, i’m surprised that people keep saying this is not a national championship caliber team, lol but somehow osu in alot of people’s minds are way better than us, lol. All i saw was a team that gave away a game, what pisses me off is on the 1st interception, our receivers were in man coverage, why not take a shot downfield with travis benjamin in man with torrence. Double move he would’ve been burnt.

It’s the timing of the offense and to many times the purpose of the plays whip calls are way off.

  76. I would just like to see us be a consistent offense. I think whip didn’t give enuff credit to the o-line. He should’ve come out passing like he did against fsu last year, or at least thrown a screen or 2 in their, while you how osu came out over aggressive trying to prove they could run with our guys, take advantage of that. Hell, whipple stares/locks in onhis playbook like jacory does receivers often times, but now we see where he gets it from. I wasn’t impressed with ohio st. I would’ve had brandon harris follow posey the whole game, and than blitz the hell out of pryor. With brandon mcgee.

  77. We have our 2nd commit of 2010. Norland RB Duke Johnson!

  78. Yes 2012 is what I meant. HAHAHA! Highlights.

  81. bg, agree or disagree? (based on the tape I just saw)

Tremendous balance, GREAT spin move. Breaks arms tackles, must wrap up this kid. Slippery enough, good YAC. Effective on returns. Can catch. Good football instincts. Good speed.

I like him based on the tape. How can he pass block?

  82. Watching the ND/Michigan replay.

Holy cow! This kid at QB for Michigan, Denard “Shoelace” Robinson, is beyond description of any English language words: explosive.

Randy says he reminds him of Red Grange. He’s not quite that old, but saw old games on TV and read all the books.

This kid is gonna win the Heisman if he continues on this path and stays healthy. He’s a one man offense. In a category all by himself.

Above Tebow, D. Howard, Rocket Ismail, Hester, and V. Young. Don’t believe me?

    Just watch him.

    That kid is incredible.

Former UM baseball player Danny Valencia still loves the “U”, and he is proving it by wearing UM paraphernalia underneath his Minnesota Twins uniform. Here is a link to the story written by the Associated Press and published by Fox 9 news… http://tiny.cc/xi53r

  85. Mike

I said the other day that Denard Robbinson was going to bring Michigan football back all by himself. He’s Pat White on steroids. Perfect for Richrod and better than anyone could have ever imagined.

He’ll get figured out here pretty soon for a little while but Ridriguez is a helluva coach and that kids going to light up college for the next 3 years.

    He’s amazing.

  86. Truth, Denard has exhilaration that I have not seen witnessed going back to Hester. Buddy can fly…TB and Miller are a steep slower than that kid, and thats saying something

  87. TB Maybe…Miller???

You haven’t seen him at top speed yet. That’s the one player I’ve been harping about since last year and especially this summer.

Lamar Miller is rediculous. I’d love to see a foot race between the 3 of them.

And the thing with miller is he’s the full package. Kids got. Can’t wait to see him get more reps at RB.

Going back to sleep till the Dr. Have a good one ladies and Gents…

  88. sad how wilson misses the off season with his wr’s no running routes no chemistry then comes into the season and balls like this!!!makes me wonder a little..

Here’s hoping to a speedy recovery!

  91. Canezila,
I was thinking the same thing last night. Dare to say that Wilson may end up being the best qb in the ACC this year…

  92. Against No. 2 Ohio State last weekend, Miami returned one kickoff for a touchdown, one punt return for a touchdown and made one field goal of 50-plus yards. No FBS team has done that over the past 15 years, and it was the first time for Miami.

Great balance. Strong runner at 5’9 180. GREAT hands as a receiver out the back field. Has good vision. Not a lot wiggle but his style doesn’t require a lot of wiggle. He doesn’t have elite speed, but he’s fast enough. The BEST part about him…THAT WAS HIS 10th grade tape, he’s just a junior this year! :-0

  96. Denard Robinson was a beast when he was at Deerfield. Jacory’s MNW team needed a last minute 90+ yard drive to beat them. We recruited Denard but as a DB. He wanted to be a QB, while his skill wouldn’t be ideal in OUR system, it works PERFECTLY for Rich Rod’s system. Great decision by Denard for himself.

I’ll always root for him and hope he does well. They have a fair amount of Florida players on that squad. Martavious Odoms, Brandon Hawthorne, and Vincent Smith are all from Pahokee. While Denard is from Deerfield Beach. Jeremy Gallon is from Apopka and they have a kid from Plantation as well several other Florida players.

  97. this kid is unreal, I like him as a RB.

  98. Dan Morgan talking about lack of leaders…

  100. Indeed, shwarma. I have been slammed at the office getting a complaint out and cupcake orders in!

That and the video Canez1 posted made me want to jump out of my window.

  101. Ohio St. is behind us.

    Football coming up tomorrow.

Pitt preview is being written. It’ll be up tomorrow. Interesting team, Pitt.

  107. shwarma, do you have restaurant suggestions for when Canez1 gets here for FLL/Boca/Delray? I feel like trying something new.

  108. hmmm…have to be honest I don’t dine out too much down here as the fiance has been on this crazy diet for past 6 months

I actually really like the restaurant in Canez’s hotel Trina. Also, Casablanca Cafe which is down the street is pretty good as well.

Boca is all chains even at the higher end levels I feel and Delray I think your pretty well versed there (my favs are Cabana whatever its called and Tramonti, though have also heard good things about Cut432. Recently went to The Office, food was good service SUCKED)

  109. and the chains in boca are fine, just saying not to many independent restaurants.

And in Ft. Laud some decent places along Las Olas, but there all just either good rather than great IMO.

  110. I agree with everything you said in Delray. I keep going back to The Office despite the terrible service. I am even delivering some Lilly Pulitzer-themed cupcakes there for a birthday party before I go to set up the Pitt game watch on Thursday. Cabana is probably my fav but I might have PTSD after the last time . . . I am never drinking 2 pitchers of mojitos again. Something about being around friends from undergrad makes me think I can drink like I am 18.

Maybe I will just go down there to where they are.

What crazy diet is your girl on?

  111. I agree re: Las Olas. The only place I like is Mancini’s. Boca is pretty much all chains. I know of two good dive Mexican restaurants though that are dirt cheap and DELICIOUS. Make great margaritas for like $4.

  112. She is on a zone diet so all her food is delivered meaning we don’t go out to eat. She’s very happy with the results as she is not big on exercise and its working

  113. well i am off for my last meal before sundown tomorrow.

  116. Captain Optimist says:

Cal, Whipple’s definitely not attacking from the get go of late. It’s weird with him. Some games he goes straight at teams, like FSU and USF. Other games he calls shyt that’s really no smart for the situation, like the first few seies against VT and the first few against OSU.

It’s almost like he didn’t watch any film of the Iowa, Navy or even Purdue games from last year. It’s the same defense with basically the same players.

Make those fools prove they can cover our speed. Don’t run wide or try some funky formation to look slick.

I’ll bet he attacks Pitt’s DBs from the 1sy snap. If he doesn’t it better be in the 2nd.

  117. Captain Optimist says:

Rich Rod with that kid is lethal. OSU’s got a lot tougher road than they thought. RR’s spread is a lot better than Oregon’s with Robinson running it. Watch out…

  120. Captain Optimist says:

GREAT to hear Shannon took off the kid gloves on these guys. I think he held back a little too long but that’s always a fine judgement call.

He should use some more of JJ’s fear tactics until they’re really playing serious ball week in and week out.

  121. tomorrow’s is in the dashboard, JSQ.

  122. Jello, you might not wanna watch this……

In regards to the Denard Robinson convo’ from earlier, I think he might be the most exciting single player in all of CFB. It made think of the guy who I think has been the most exciting guy in CFB, since Reggie Bush.
After watching this CJ Spiller highlight reel, I’ve conceded that his entire career was simply one 60 yard touchdown after another.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MooMhKt-wKw

My question is if Lamar Miller is this fast.

  123. Spiller?!

Ahhhh! Make it stop! No sqib! No squiiiiiiiib!!!

    [curls up in fetal position]

  124. dumbest kickoff ever jsq

  125. Hurri, here’s what we do know, whipple needs to get that man the ball more so we can find out. miller gets in that open field, and not to many people catching em, the beautiful thing about lamar millers speed is, he maintains it.

The best part about his run against osu was, when he got in the endzone, he knew he belonged their, the stage wasn’t to big for him, in fact, it was actually easy for em. osu knew they wasn’t going to give him another chance like that. miller has speed and moves though and for a runningback with his size and speed, that’s a home run threat waiting to happen. I’m convinced had we run the ball more with miller, he would’ve broke at least 2 or 3 long runs, like that one he got up the gut that was called back after he got inside the 5 yard line. osu was scared to death of miller and travis benjamin. With that much speed on at whipples disposal, nobody should hold us to under 4 touchdowns at a minimum per game on offense.

I know shannon went off on the team and rightfully so, but i’m hoping he had alot left for the coaching staff as well. To me, this lost was worst than all the losses under shannon in the sense that we gave osu that game, and people walking around saying osu is that good or we’re not ready and this and that. I’m not sure what game they were watching but osu is not that good, they are a real solid team, now if they had jamaal berry in their toting the rock a lil more and utilize him right, that would open up their offense a lil more.

What i like is, while shannon keeps talking about the process for the team, what’s also happening is, he’s going thru a process too and evolving as a coach as well. That loss is going to help open shannon up a lil more and free some of thos emotions he has and breathe it on his players. He knows that loss saturday was bullshat, when you play a team and you’re better than them but you lose the game, that loss deserved everything shannon had to say to them and including him, the evolution of shannon, if he becomes a mad man on the sidelines, that would fire us up let alone the team. shannon knows he might need to get back to this right here if we play another game like that, especially if the qb wants to keep giving the ball to the other team:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6s23JTmfJOY

  126. How IN THE WORLD did Kansas beat GT?

    I just don’t see it.

  127. Captain Optimist says:

MM01, the jig is up on Johnson’s offense that’s how. Between LSU, US and Iowa, teams see how to shut em down.

PLUS, you have to think Turner Gill REFUSES to let an option team beat him. lol

  128. Captain Optimist says:

Cal, that’s a good point about Shannon perhaps restraining himself too much. JJ definitely didn’t hold back when he wanted something to happen. He was real personal with the players, good and bad. Shannon’s already down that road but I think he could go several steps further now that they’re mature and no longer just learning things. They KNOW things now.

I think this game just might bring those parts out of him.

  129. Captain, my dad went to school with Carl Torbush (Carson-Newman), the KU defensive coordinator. Torbush has coached at Baylor, Ole Miss, Alabama, Texas A&M, UNC, and Miss. St., and recently at Carson-Newman. He’s now the DC at KU.

I think he can scheme on how to beat the option, lol

  130. thanks for the holiday wishes.

  131. cav, yeah man, this lost , shannon keeps talking bout the team will be better win lose or draw, and he’s right, including the coaching staff. whipple knew he could’ve done a better job, and i can live with mcgriff, but something has got to be done with this special teams crap, it’s helping to cost us games. I don’t see confidence from guys, and to many guys on special teams not doing nothing, hit somebody, it’s 11 0n 11, every body go and get a man.

cav the thing about it, who’s better, joe mcknight or lamar miller, i’m going with miller everytime. He’s stronger and faster, we haven’t had that combination of size and strength since mcgahee. miller puts fear in defensive coordinators hearts. We should’ve stuck with the run in the 3rd quarter but with miller the home hitter. He showed how good he was on that 3rd down play where he caught that pass and took off for about a quick 8 yards althoug it was something like 3rd and 19. bosher goes and kicks a 51 yard fieldgoal and than comes right back and misses a 46 yarder, lol.

This lost will put the program to where it needs to be, jacory needs to go back to playing with that same confidence he had when he 1st got to UM, and than this team will be alright, when jacory threw those picks, i didn’t see that same jacory that said ok, i threw a pick and than come right back and light the oppossing defense up.

As far as g-tech and that option, the option is not hard to stop when you got decent personel, you know what’s coming, just a matter of guys getting off blocks and making plays.
Meanwhile all these military schools keep running the option, than pj brings it to g-tech, they’re all back in the stone age, the teams who use to run the option are now the teams that are basically running these spread offenses these days.

  132. Thinking of last Friday night and how hopeful we were then. Sigh. It seems like years ago. Could it be that it was all so simple then? Or has time rewritten every line? If we had the chance to do it all again, tell me, would we? Could we? Memories….of the way we were.

Haha, good to see Turner’s got some veterans on his staff. He’s definitely seen a few options. hahaha

  135. cav, remember he was the linebackers coach when bill “not so” young was the defensive coordinator their when they shut down v-tech, although that wasn’t a tuff feat, but the did look impressive that game doing it.

  136. BIG DADDY CANE says:

CALVIN after seeing that video again of the Bulls it made me hyped up. Jacory did get away from his roots..because he came from that environment so no way he should be mocking sponge bob after that…those practices was intense and GOON LIKE DADE STYLE..A lot of cursing and calling you a punk ass…they tested your manhood…no wonder Dade county players play above a top notch caliber unlike the rest of the country..they didn’t SUGARCOAT ANYTHING…IF u are soft they’ll point it out. Shannon did the right stuff and got into his players after the loss..He got tired of us playing below CANE standards ..he knew the better team lost and played poorly at times…Well Pitt better watch out these Guys are coming with a chip on the shoulder and ready to crush them next Thursday..

  137. Captain Optimist says:

Cal, yeah, STs has been atrocious. To me, after Shannon ripping into the team, the next step is canning Fluzzi. It’s embarrassing being nervous about EVERY KO or punt.

I know there has to be another ST/TE coach in the country who would love to use the U as a stepping stone.

Maybe that’s Fluzzi’s problem–he’s just trying to hold on and not move up.

And as far as leaders are concerned, I think they’ll emerge after this game, cause we haven’t had any real leaders since 2003. And by that I mean guys who talk it and walk it. Too many Glenn I can’t find the RB Cook’s and Jason I have no weaknesses Fox’s and Daryl I’m one of the best LBs in college Sharpton’s out there.

    C-mac can’t walk it unless he’s blitzing.

So based on that game, I see Franklin, Spence, BH and maybe Bailey emerging. Of course, Hank is already there.

J12 has to prove somethings to me before he gets that confidence back.

  138. JSQ, check out the photos if you’re still awake for tomorrow’s article

Feeling a little better because the FSWho tailgate prep has officially begun!!!

And my dear friend Timmy (also Patrick’s fraternity bro) is coming down from NYC for the game! Hopefully he won’t have to babysit me at the game like he did at senior formal! Hahaha, memories!

So excited! This game is going to be EPIC!!! And it will all start with the tailgate!!!

    I’m BACK, baby!

    GO ‘CANES!!!!

  140. Mike, will do.

And Six is going to be PACKED for FSWho! But since I am making all the food ahead of time we don’t need the grill and don’t need to fold any seats down. Timmy and another Kappa Sig, Rory, are riding down with Randy, Tereina, my mom, you, and me. If Truth wants to drive up to drive down, I think we can fit 6 in the back rows. I’ve sat in a Yukon where it was done!

Woo hoo! I can’t wait for FSWho!!!!

  141. The pictures look great, Mike! Just double check you are straight with the featured image. :-)

  142. good looking out, thanks for reminding me.

Looking forward to that weekend very much myself.

  143. watching this Cal/Nevada game… IMO, Nevada can beat Boise St.

Nevada is up 45-24 in the 4th with seven minutes to play

  144. You will love Timmy and Rory.

I feel like I am 21 again just thinking about this weekend!

Man, I had fun in undergrad!

I just typed a whole story and deleted it. Better told over eleventy beers at a tailgate. Sort of like my friend’s Marcus Maxey story I told y’all at Champs.

Oh wait, remember the part about the story where someone was like, wait did he say all that in a whisper (bc Kevin Everett and his TX girlfriend were in the next room) and then everyone started whispering the lyrics? Well that someone was Timmy. Hilarious.

I suddenly feel the urge to go drink at the Tavern.

    So. Freaking. Excited!!!!

  146. I have been corrected. The exact quote was:

    Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

    I’m too excited to sleep!!!

  149. I remember that story now!

    Was a good one!

  150. Mike I have a twitter account but have not logged into it in over a year. Not a real big fan of twitter. I know everyone loves it but I do not really like it so much.

Cannot believe how Nevada thrashed Cal like they did? That is just crazy.

Oh and I watched some brain gurus last night on Larry King, it is really sad what football does to football player’s brain….it was kinda of scary. Also what bad food does to our brains….I am so glad I have started eating better and exercising again 6 days a week.

One of those gurus was this very pretty girl, super smart, so jealous I wish I had a science mind!

    GO CANES!!!!!!!

  151. Yooo its been getting cold at night here in the 50′s I hope the suntan U crew is ready Thursday nite to play in the cold. I know I will be and I know Pitt will as well.

    Pack the heaters bytchez.

  153. I wouldn’t be surprised if brandon mcgee starts vs pitt over dvd. I like what i saw from mcgee out their on saturday. He played aggressive, stayed on his man, made sure nobody out ran his side, and made some nice tackles out their. dvd just refuses to take that next step, and attack the ball when it’s in the air, he’s a senior, if not now, maybe in the pro’s when he’s trying to eat. At the college level, this guy hasn’t taken a chance on picking a ball off in a few years and his philosophy is to stay in his receivers chest instead of picking the ball off. Let the truth be told, dvd should play receiver instead of defense, he’d be alot more aggressive on offense because he’d know how to mentally use his speed better their.

Of coure, don’t send him over the middle of the field though. sam shields is in the pros because same shields takes chances on the ball and is in on alot of plays right now, damyum near starting out their. Either you’re aggressive or you’re not, that catch dvd let schuazbrer make was ridiculous, you in man coverage, how you trying to go to the pro’s letting a guy like that catch any ball.

I can tell you what this secondary is lacking, individual strengths coaching coaching. in other words, if i’m a coach, and this goes for any position, i got to evaluate my guys individual talents. So i gotta know who’s good in press coverage, zone coverage, almost anybody can play zone, but even in zone you gotta be aggressive. dvd is always just satisfied and happy knocking the ball down, for some reason he feels like that’s great coverage or something instead sticking both of his toothpick arms up and snatching the ball. No pride, so when guys are evaluating film to go against us, they already know they can take alot of chances on dvd’s side because he’ll just defend the ball, he’s not going to get it for him team.

No way i’d ever be happy knowing other teams think they can come my way with the ball, in that pride is not in you. See they stay away from brand harris side, but they only try and run to his side, but he shows up. That man plays with to much pride, i wouldn’t be surprised if he was helping shannon curse mofo’s out as well.

bdC, yeah man, that’s exactly what jacory needs so he can get his head back in the game. At this level, he can’t be that worried about whether his teammates see him nervous or not, that’s not CANE football. Go out their and play, stay aggressive and keep balling. All that yelling and telling guys they running the wrong route, do that after you throw the ball away, not to the other team and than try and blame the receiver. We wentdeep to hankerson and benjamin 1 time, after that, either jacory was trying to hard to play it safe, but from here on in, it’s all on the mental and health. No way osu is the best team in the nation.

cal, fluzzi needs to get the hell out of here, he may be good at developing tight-ends, but he’s helping to cost us games in the process, time for him to speed on b4 he gets peed on!

  154. denard robinson just help to save rich rodriguez job. Those of us knew about denard robinson, the main thing with him though, he wanted to play qb, but he could actually play alot of positions for real. If he played safety, he’s probably lead the league in interceptions. Imagine denard robinson in our secondary along with brandon harris & brandon mcgee, and ray ray. But denard is a prime example of why guys getting money in college is ridiculous to make it an issue. Look at all the shoelace t-shirts flying off the rack now, but no money for him or his family.

Anyway, that should be a good game, michigan against ohio st. If they thought miller and travis were fast, lol.

  155. Yo Calvin at this pt I’d be happy w/dvd gettin a pi call rather than lettin his man run buy him or just letting him catch the ball…and when osu tried McGee in that pass in the emdzone, not only was McGee step 4 step with posey, but tried to make a play on the ball…

  156. CanesCanesCanes says:

Calvin – not so fast on richrod. Denard Robinson is the real deal, no doubt about it, he could have a MichaelVick kind of career, but richrod is in such big trouble withe the Meeeechigan administration that unless he pulls out at least 8 wins this year he’s gone. imo

  157. nash, that’s exactly what i’m talking bout, brandon mcgee showed up and was ready out their, had pryor thrown the ball a lil lower mcgee would’ve had it, and you not out running brandon harris, i like that play on that shuffle pass to herron and you could see the o-linemen for osu holding his hand up like that’s 6 points, brandon mcgee put a stop to that one. Same with pryor, against another team he might of scored, but brandon harris tracked his azz down as well. I luv the way brandon and mcgee play, the may it a point to be physical, and i’m not sure how dvd can watch tape and see how soft he plays and than not comeback with pride. On the 1st pass to posey, i would’ve anticipated that one and jumped the route. I would’ve told ray ray or whatever safety was on my side, dawg, if they running an out route, i’m jumping, just look out for the pump fake.

1st off, dvd was already coming out of his back pedal on that play way to early, i already know pryor is not no gunslinger, so i’m taking a chance on everything short, dvd scared to take chances and gives guys to much respect out their on that field. i just don’t see alot of guys on defense trying to go and get the ball. I would’ve left harris or brandon mcgee in man coverage on posey and schzuasrbbe, if they beat us, so what, come right back and beat, but dictate to the offense.

  158. triple c, denard robinson is who vick wish he was, it’s not even close. michigan will get at least 9 wins, with that schedule they have and as long as denard is the qb, they’ll stay in games, reason being, no defensive coordinator can not account for him and they know once he gets in the open field, nobody is catching em. Put it this way, denard is faster than cj spiller, back in the days, cj spiller and deonte thompson use to be neck and neck against each other, none of them could beat denard right now in the 100.

With that being said, denard can pass as well too, so alot of their receivers will be in man coverage and denard will start killing the big 10 passing as well. tyrell pryor will not run for an 70 or 80 yard touchdwon, denard can in an instant.

  159. quite a few good games on at noon.

    What is everyone watching?

  160. CanesCanesCanes says:

Denard is crazy fast, I believe he’ll tear up the big ten. But will Michigan’s defense step up. If not, denard better put on his spikes, because he’s going to have to be scoring a ton. Anyway, just more of that S. Florida speed on display.

  161. UNC v GT in the KL household.

  162. Canechic,
Flipping between NC and GT and West Va and Maryland

  163. Ohio just scored a TD on kick return on OSU just to have it called back for penalty, ugh!

KL yes Nick and I are going back and forth between games. We have decided we do not care about BCS just want to see OSU loose. Ugh

  164. Hurricane Randy says:

Arkansas v. Georgia, with lookins on Ga.Tech v. UNC

  165. I am not a fan of Twitter, either, Canechic. I don’t have a personal Twitter account, I only run the one for EOTH. I think it’s boring. I heard they added pictures and stuff but still, it is just sort of dumb.

Canez1, 50s are COLD! I don’t know how you do it!

I was FA-REEZING at the tailgate before the sun came out last week. All the pictures from the day show me bundled up in a ‘Canes hoodie to protect myself from the inclement mid-70s weather!

  172. CanesCanesCanes says:

  174. GT O is fun to watch…hate it, but fun to watch

  175. Champs was 30s, Canez1, not 50s.

Thanks for sending the package. I’m thinking Nick has a back up cell phone charger but it sure was nice of him to bring it for me. Don’t know what I was thinking in my 4:30am fit of rage not charging it.

Sarah was cool once you went and got her coffee! Reva was good after her nap!

I started feeling the sinusitis about half way through the tailgate but at the time I thought it was just fatigue. And then not being able to breathe half way during the game clued me in that it might be something more.

F Columbus. F Ohio State. I don’t care about the BCS either, I want them to lose every game they ever play until the end of time!!!

  176. Yes AK/GA is a pretty good game. UNC/GT kinda sleepy but Yates looks pretty good

  177. Wow GT has found their groove.

  178. 30′s!!! No way! I think that is the SOFLA in you remembering that. High 40′s at the worst.

    Too funny!

It’s going to be chilly one way or another.

    GO CANEZ!!!!!

  179. I think the UCF game was in the 50′s, the Champs bowl game had to be in the 40′s at kickoff. I hope the Canes are so fired up that the temp up at Pitt won’t matter

  180. Champs = freezing.. cold as f@ck that night…coming from a guy that’s never seen snow:)

    GO CANEZ!!!!!

  183. datCane, after a loss like that, you on the money, time for guys to start losing jobs. You hit the nail on the head about dvd, he out their playing defense and the ball like he got a fly swatter in his hands. You right on the money about him out their celebrating after plays too, i know i couldn’t be the only one annoyed by it. He’s always concentrating only to see if the receiver doesn’t have the ball, he seems to have no interest in locating the ball, i’ve sen him bat a ball away, and had he looked to see where the ball was, he could’ve went and picked it off or worst, is when he swats a ball and starts trouting out and the receiver still has a strong chance of catching the ball, dvd trouting out celebrating instead of finishing the play.

He’s more interested in pass break-ups than interceptions.

  184. we are eye to eye on DVD Cal…give #21 some MORE burn!

  185. I think everyone forgets Mcgee is blazing fast as well and can hang with anyone in that dept.

I am with you guys. D(soft like baby poop)VD has had his time to shine and that time has come and gone. NEXT!!!

Time to step up young man!

Time for the dudes not showing improvement week to week to take a seat.

Everyone except our QB of course …….

    GO CANEZ!!!!!

  186. datCane & Canez1, if i’m coach i’d tell dvd, if you don’t get a pick this week or if any man catches a pass on you, it’s going to be your last time starting at UM, all you’re going to do is play special teams for us from here on out with jojo!
