Hooter Hunting

Owls

OK,  I’m back from the bluegrass state and I still have not been able to watch the replay of route this past weekend.  From what I am reading, the new place is beautiful, load and was about 75% full.  Hopefully we will get an even bigger turnout this Saturday evening when Miami takes on the Owls of FAU.  FAU takes a 1-0 record into “The Rock” after a nice come-from-behind win against Southern Illinois this past weekend.  They are a young team that fought Miami hard for the first half last year. Let’s look at a few a few players that stood out for FAU in that win and who they will be relying on not just this Saturday but also this season if they are going to be successful.

RB – Gregory Howell Jr – AKA “Buddy” had a great opening weekend with 128 rushing yards including a 48 and  37 yard runs for touchdowns.

QB – Jason Driskel – Jason, a redshirt sophomore, had a great start the season completing 23 of 31 for 287 yards.  He also is not afraid to run, rushing for 41 yards.  He has no doubt matured since getting his first start against Miami last year.  Hid=s favorite target was WR Henry Bussy III who he connected with six times.

LB – Azeez Al-Shaair  – Azeez didn’t miss abeat from last year when he was a Freshman All-American clocking in with a team leading 10 tackles.  Image result for Azeez fau

On the defense line the Owls will look to RS junior Haiden Nagel to apply pressure in the backfield.  Haiden checked in with 8 tackles this past weekend.

In the defensive backfield the Owls are led by sophomore Jalen Young, who, like Haiden finished with 8 defensive stops from his strong safety spot.

there is no doubt FAU will bring more to the table for Miami then their past opponent in FAMU.  How much will is to be determined.  Make no jokes about it that Miami fans are excited about this Miami team but most are still a bit cautious after past expectations not being met.

This will be my first “Live” game of the season so I am really hyped up for it.  Looking forward to seeing the new stadium but more so the new team under a new staff.

As I mentioned earlier, kickoff is at 6:00 p.m.  and being broadcast on ESPN3.  Stop by to say hello in the green lot for some bourbon I just picked up over the weekend.

Go Canes!

I’m in Afghanistan so it’s hard to catch the games because they don’t get broadcast until around 2am. Here’s to hoping I can find Canes games online.

CaneFanKB, I works a pilot and am out of the country during many games . Use Google Crome and download an extension like Hola VPN. You will be able to use ESPN and watch online . It will make it seem like you are in the US . Works great with Netflix and Amazon Prime . Good luck.

I don’t usually make requests on here.

Crop that second picture, change that second picture, BURN that second picture. I was eating, and no joke, I choked on my food seeing a defender late to his location, on a fourth and five no less, and the “coach” just watching as if he was in a movie theatre.

There HAS to be another picture of Mr Howell. Here, I found one after a quick search by way of google, of him celebrating after a first down.

Not sure how he got that far behind? Maybe he wasn’t playing 15 yards off the ball?

I’m just glad I won’t have to hear that stupid ass FAU announcer. HOOOOWWWELLLLLLLL gains 5 yards and an OOOOOWWWWWWWLLLLL first down! That FAU game was one of the worst sporting experiences of my life.

    This actually made me lol.

    Better late than never playboy.

Like Money said, easy victory and the key is getting out with no injuries.

Willis must be ready to eat after all this time off. Looking forward to seeing the hype finally in action.

First person to get a pic of Schnelly in his combat boots and suspenders, wandering around the stadium, gets a hundy from me.

Tough for me to say anything bad about the hooters. The gave Mrs. Delray a free ride for 4 years.

Surprised if they don’t get brought up as a candidate for one of the power 5 in the next 5-7 years.

It’s likely they’ll move into the AAC once UCF or USF gets a power 5 invite.

Richt is going to have to work some magic with the O this season playing keep away so we can keep the defense a little fresh.

I fully expect development for all players Scholarship or non. We can still win 10 games. Get it done
