Tired of always spilling your cocktail when dancing to Ballin’ Boys? Want to avoid drinking on an empty stomach? Ready to take your tailgate or game watch party up a notch? Then there is nothing better than Jello shots! Not just for frat parties anymore, Jello shots are the perfect way to show your spirit for the ‘Canes while getting schnockered at the same time!
I usually make 100+ Jello shots for my tailgates. It seems like there are never enough, so I am actually flying to Columbus the Thursday before we beat the Suckeyes to make 500 Jello shots. Although Jello shots can be made in various delicious flavors, the best way to show your ‘Canes pride is with the following recipe:
1 large box of lime Jello
1 large box of orange Jello
4 cups of boiling water
2 cups of orange vodka
2 cups of Malibu rum
2 3/4 cup of ice cold water
1 or 2 oz cups and lids (available at any party supply store)
Directions:
Dissolve orange and green Jello in separate bowls of 2 cups of boiling water, stir until blended. Add 3/4 cups of ice water to each bowl. Stir. Add liquor to each bowl. Stir.
Now the fun begins. This is where lots of counter space is helpful, especially if you are making large quantities. Fill containers leaving a little room at the tip. Secure lids tightly. Arrange Jello upside down in Tupperware containers. Chill in refrigerator overnight. Take to tailgate in containers, if possible, on ice until ready to serve. This recipe yields about 40 1oz or 20 2oz shots of each flavor.
While some Jello shots might taste stronger than others, it is important NOT to increase the amount of alcohol in this recipe or the shots will not set, like they didn’t in 2008 for the FSWho monsoon game, and then your tailgate will suck, the ‘Canes will lose, and it will be all your fault.
Enjoy and eat responsibly!

Is it mr or does LA look like the oldest guy on the team…including half the coaches?? Lol
It’s officially football season. I no longer have time for a freaking manicure. About to go postal in the nail salon. I have about 500 things I should be doing right now.
Mike, Randy, I’m making blue cheese sliders, apple pie cupcakes, pigs in a blanket, and of course, jello shots. Since you guys will be there on Wednesday night, you will get to see what the night before game day in my house looks in person!!!!
LA looks like my boy Tracey Morgan.
GO CANEZ!!!!!

Website has bloggers predicting upset of the decade. Got to love the the support they show. As Lee Corso once said when asked about an up coming UM vs. West Virginia game, speaking about West Virginia’s chance to beat the Canes, ” They have ,NO SHOT.”
Will be listening in… Question for Manny, what have you heard about Kevin Nelson’s progress in practice. While watching Randy Shannon’s show, a short video on practice showed him on special teams. As a freshman that may be his best shot of getting on the field.
oh my bad jsq …just looks like the dude in all orange is 12!!!
got it Randy.
Hey guys my Internet is down. I wishI could listen tonight! I’m going to see if it works on iPhones!
Yeah, Canezilla, my boy Adam has a youthful appearance!
Bg, Esteban, great show! Was able to listen to the whole thing on my iPhone!
I tried to call in 3x but it wouldn’t connect me just like last week.
I guess that is a blessing since every question I was going to ask was covered very well by you guys in the main segment!
great show..come on bg get on the wagon 12-0
i think its the iphone….you know it struggles with calls.
but seriously we’ll look into it. might need you to call in at a scheduled time and see if it goes through.
Yeah maybe it is AT&T’s fault. But this time it said there wasn’t even a show to call into. Hmmmm maybe this is a case of iPhone discrimination!
Seriously, though, great show guys! You actually made sorting game watch raffle prizes and washing game day Tupperware fun! Haha
Mike, Randy, please let me know if you don’t like the following:
bacon and/or sausage
cheese
mushrooms
onions
hash browns
thinking of making something for y’all to eat on for dinner and while I’m at work Thursday.
What time were they I on, I just clicked on to some clowns saying FSU was going to beat Miami. Must not of been my guys?
Lol, safe bet it wasn’t our guys, Canechic! Hahahaha
They were on at 6 but I think you can listen to it now in the archives. It was a great show!
Thanks for the support guys. Sorry Manny came on late but he had a family issue he was dealing with. He will be on next week and we’ll preview tOSU!
Canechic you can listen to the replay by going to http://www.blogtalk.com/ufrsports
The show is called Hurricane Alley.
Great show, guys!! Keep up the awesome work.
I thought it was 7, I will check out the replay!
Go Canes!
Thanks KL!
Hey BG, I’m trying to listen to that replay but its saying something about Contact Us and then asking me for my name, phone number, and complaint…
Is that link 100% correct? Or is it my computer?
I haven’t met a mushroom, sausage, or potato I haven’t liked yet!
Sounds yummy!
Who is this Shapiro character?
“They turned their back on me?”
Guy has zero, 0, nada, zilch, credibility. He’s in jail for being a cheater and a liar. And now he’s gonna expose the U?
Tell that guy to take a hike and go fly a kite.
If anything comes of this, I’ll be surprised.

Practice update
by: Steve Gorten August 30th, 2010 | 7:30 AM
CORAL GABLES — The media viewing time at the start of this morning’s 6:45 a.m. practice was shorter than usual.
Here are a few notes:
— RT Joel Figueroa wasn’t participating in team drills. He was off to the side working with strength and conditioning coach Andreu Swasey. I’m not sure what was bothering him. Figueroa, who missed spring practice recovering from shoulder surgery, sat out two of the final three scrimmages in camp because of an undisclosed injury.
— WR Tommy Streeter made a nice over-the-shoulder grab near the sideline on a long pass from QB Spencer Whipple. CB Lee Chambers was covering.
— CB Brandon Harris broke up a deep pass downfield from QB Jacory Harris that was intended for WR Leonard Hankerson.
— LB Kylan Robinson and DE Vernon Olivier again were working with the first team.
— RB Damien Berry was with the first team while Mike James was on the second team.
— CBs Brandon McGee and Ryan Hill seem to have secured the backup spots behind starters Harris and DeMarcus Van Dyke.
— OT Seantrel Henderson was working with the second team. I anticipate he’ll get some action in Thursday’s season opener against Florida A&M.
Shields isn’t just making the team. As of Sunday, he has been practicing as GB’s #3 cb.

daniel kirsner with a blog called: “ESPN SUCKS”
interesting odds & ends including this tidbit:
“Yesterday, UM commit Teddy Bridgewater found his nationally ranked Miami Northwestern team down seven with two minutes left in the game. He then led a 90 yard drive, ending in a touchdown pass to UM commit Eli Rodgers. The Bulls then completed a two point conversion to wind the game. All he does is win.
Latwan Anderson and David Perry both attended this morning’s practice, but expect both to redshirt. It’s still great to have both in uniform!”

80 hours… 57 minutes… (que the Donnie Darko bunny rabbit)
Who knows what that guy is going to say – I’m sure a lot of very true, but a lot of it BS for book sales – but don’t think for one second all of it won’t be a big deal to everyone in the country.
He wants to write a book about Miami, after all.
What he was doing with the players is the same stuff that happens everywhere. But a lot of it isn’t ok with the NCAA. I just don’t know how much of that can be proven by anyone, which is why it’s really not such a big deal.
But he is definitely a guy that was pushed away for good reasons and I am sure ANY – if any – investigation would easily prove that. Randy doesn’t deal with guys like him and doesn’t want that around no matter how much $$$ the give to the program.
Within the past 3 seasons I have heard his name quite a bit. He’s not an agent or anything but he does try to get chummy with all the
players. The kids I speak with don’t hang around those types of people so I don’t have anything else I can say other than that.
IF a book comes out it WILL be a HUGE deal.
It will probably say a lot of very true things that don’t look so good.
It will probably say a lot of BS too.
The NCAA will probably investigate it.
Most of it will never be found to be true, but that doesn’t mean that it wasn’t…I’m just sayin
This UM and anything negative about them will be BIG news so, come when and if he gets his book out, get ready.
So, something to worry about or not?
If the book gets published, yes. If not, no?
new blog up
Check my grassy avatar…..it was some random chick’s tailgate at the Miami @ USF game. Nice truck of HOT chicks with tons of orange and green shot glasses…it was hotness. They also did a damn fine job spray painting the beer cans of the light versus non-light beers orange and green and had them laid out on the table as U.
It was hotness. Both the WOMEN and the jello shots and beers were awesome. I wish I had better shots, but the only that came out is the one of the jello shots. Mary, check the pic and if yo uwant a full size non-cropped version, I have it.
Can’t wait for the Jell-O shot making party in ohio…
