Eye of the Hurricane wraps up our Top 25 Player Countdown with QB Jacory Harris . . . like you didn’t see this one coming. J12 is the single most important player to the success of the 2010 season. If he struggles, the team will struggle. If he excels, the team will most likely excel. Let’s take a closer look at our countdown’s top player.
1. Jacory Harris, QB
In 2009, junior Jacory Harris (6’4, 200) was no longer locked in a quarterback controversy and wasn’t constantly looking over his shoulder to see if he would be substituted for a less effective counterpart. It was finally his team, his offense, and for good reason. During his freshman season in 2008, Harris earned the ACC Rookie of the Week three times in games versus Charleston Southern, and in come-from-behind victories on the road at Duke and Virginia. He accounted for five touchdowns against Duke (four passing, one rushing) coming off the bench and totaled 228 yards of offense in a half of football. In Charlottesville, he led an impressive 7:06, 15 play, 95-yard drive, ending it with a 26 yard touchdown pass to tie the game. He also threw the game winning pass in OT. Last season, Harris threw for 3,352 yards, 24 touchdowns, and tallied four 300+ yard games under then first-year Offensive Coordinator Mark Whipple. He was the first quarterback to throw for 3,000+ yards since 2002 (Ken Dorsey) and became the seventh passer in UM history to eclipse the mark. He was named the ACC Back of the Week four times, ranked 30th nationally in passing efficiency (140.09) and fifth in the ACC. In Miami single-season history, he ranks second in completions (242), fourth in passing yards (3,352), sixth in touchdown passes (24), and fifth in total offense (3,133). All that accomplishment led him to be a Davey O’Brien Award semifinalist.
Why he appears here: Harris became the first true freshman quarterback to start his first game since 1983 (Bernie Kosar). He showed a lot of promise as a freshman, and probably should’ve been named the starter midway through the 2008 season. But Harris persevered and never lost his cool, sporting a team-first attitude and supporting the staff’s decision to stick with Robert Marve, who has since transferred to Purdue.
Harris’s demeanor in the huddle and seemingly not being affected by high-pressure situations is off-the-charts for such a young quarterback. His poise and confidence is a real asset in his game, and with more experience and maturity, expect them to continue to grow.
2010 Season Outlook: The sky is the limit for J12. He’s been named to the Davey O’Brien and Manning Award watch lists, and if he can cut down on his interception total from last year (17), could be a finalist for college football’s most coveted and prestigious award, the Heisman Trophy. Harris was playing injured for the last quarter of the season, and this hindered
his ability to fit the football into tight windows and contributed to critical interceptions down the stretch. Off-season thumb surgery was required and he appears 100% healthy and ready to toss the pigskin around the yard again. Also, don’t underestimate the importance of second year OC Mark Whipple returning.
A lot hinges on Harris’ success this season. If he can move the offense up and down the field like he did last year, he’ll contend for numerous post-season accolades and awards. Expect to see him in the running for the ACC Player of the Year Award and be a finalist for all the major post-season awards. An improved running game will only help the play-action attack, and look for that to be a big factor in the effectiveness of the passing game. Increased touchdown and passing yard totals are not out of the question, but he must take care of the football better this season. Jacory Harris is staring stardom square in the eye.

Green for me!
Good read! J mother f@cking 12

Woo hoo! 2 more days!!!!
And T, my imaginary husband and I are on a trial separation right now for obvious reasons.

good read
I can’t take it much longer. About to explode!
Is anyone else real cranky this week? I have no patience for anyone.
I would like to be left alone until Friday but that’s not gonna happen.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
I am cranky, too, Canez1!
Truth, I’m sorry I fell asleep early and you had to go to the bad place to entertain yourself.
The Truth
There’s only so much late night TV and porn to watch so I surfed the web and ended heading to a spot I haven’t visited in quite some time.
Not that it’s a prerequisite to being a good fan, but you can always tell the jock sniffers From guys that have actually played when they start harping on teams coming out flat – and it being s sign of neglegent coaching.
As if because someone gets up in front of you and cheerleads it’s going to make you run through a wall.
I personally HATE hearing that dumbass micheal Irvin pregame speech that he gave before FSU a few years ago.
Why?
They lost. They didn’t exactly come out roaring either.
Cav – stop going back and forth with someone
than can’t even understand how stupid he is.
True motivation in sport is bred through competition. No amount of extrinsic motivation will sustain it’s self. Intrinsic motivation is the ONLY motivation that can keep a player moving forward through the rigors of competition – because it’s only then that the player recognizes that NO ONE is in control of their destiny other than themselves.
Real motivation is born within. Not everyone has it and not everyone is capable of sustaining it.
To develop a true sense of competition on a football team you need players that aren’t looking for that golden carrot – like Willie Williams. You need real talent that is equal, but for the nuances that separate the men from the boys.
You thrown them in the fire, promise them nothing and let them separate themselves from the pack.
You make them fear getting water so they don’t lose their spot in the lineup.
You can’t do that overnight. Or in one year or two if you don’t have players to begin with – 4 and 4 and 5 stars aside.
Randy Shannon is 20% responsible for motivating his players. He is responsible for setting up an environment of competition. He has done that.
He is responsible for finding a core of players that are willing to compete. He has done that.
The players are responsible for showcasing themselves and working hard to separate themselves from there competition. That includes the practice field as well as the games.
Any bozo that thinks a head coach is going motivate a player in ANY other facet is stupid. People don’t work that way.
Truth, check your phone. I’m distracting you again.
Don’t concern yourself with the opinions of fools.

…especially here at Miami. Ask those old canes about motivation and not one is going to tell you that the coaches flapping their lips did a damn thing for them.
I have had this conversation with an old ‘Cane several times and you are 100% correct, Truth.
He didn’t care who the coach was – he wanted to win everything and be the best at what he did.
You can’t coach that attitude. Coaches have to find that attitude 85 times and put it on a team that, as Cav would say, becomes a symphony of destruction.
LOVE THAT TERM!
So, Canez1, what has you so cranky? Did Mariah cancel her tour this year?
DAT, is your liver ready for Thursday? Jello shots are already made!!!
Remember to send me an e-mail about the wedding.

JSQ yes & yes! Get that email to []_[] today or tomorrow….
Tailgate info for Thursday:
We are meeting at 2:45 at the Wal Mart by the stadium. Caravanning over when gates open.
For stragglers, here is the info on our spot, from our own EOTH writer, Patrick:
West 20 – West 30 – (PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PDF) This magical little spot is very near were the students park. Many of our friends already tailgate there (or very near there) and this spot has some great advantages:
It has a large sidewalk area (with Trees for extra shade) that will provide a lot more tailgate room than if we parked in your standard spot. Also, if I remember correctly, the Bus lot is relatively empty with plenty of room for further expansion if needed (cornhole area).
We already have a lot friends in the area.
Plenty of easily accessible port-a-pottys
Close proximity to the students (in case you feel a need for a quick funnel…)
Cool, DAT, thanks!
T…as in me? your imaginary husband? You don’t get BOTH this season…I will see you in a few hours to act as your personal assistant…looking forward…oh yeah, I am ready for some Canes football….GO CANES!!!!
T as in Truth, sorry Tereina. You are my “T” as well!
Kirk Herbstreit and I are on a break until around 8pm September 11. Then I MIGHT take him back if he reforecasts that whole “OSWho playing for the national championship” prediction.
See you tonight.
Oh, and Bruiser wanted me to tell you goodbye, and he’ll miss you.
I didn’t think I would be this sentimental about letting him go. Don’t give me wrong, I love Six, but Bruiser. Sigh. He’ll always have a piece of my heart. I can’t imagine what you will be like when you and Sally part ways!
And p.s. I LOVE Jacory!
Oh wow…when me and Sally part ways…and I thought I was depressed before! I am going to need 500 Jell-O shots myself.
We will toast Bruiser tonight…he was good. I will miss him too, I see plenty of good times in Six…but, Bruiser, was, well, Bruiser.
Me too, Tereina. And Sebas. Sebastian actually heavily influenced our decision to put Jacowy . . . er, Jacory, in the #1 spot. He strong pawed Mike and me.
Will there be another Cane bikini clad baking session later?
Uncle Luke on Shapiro:
http://blogs.miaminewtimes.com/riptide/2010/04/nevin_k_shapiros_beautiful_asi.php
Of course, Truth. What else does one wear when making ‘Canes cupcakes but ‘Canes bikinis?
Duh.

Mary, are you on Twitter yet? My friend John just told me to “keep dreaming” that Miami could make the BCS Title Game b/c he said Jacory Harris sucked. I told him off but could always use backup!! People have no idea what they are in for this season – Miami is back!!!
Oh, and Tereina, I am making a bacon mushroom flatbread for dinner.
Reva, EOTH is on Twitter at “Eye of the Cane” – it is in the upper right corner of the page. I’m not on Twitter personally, I just run EOTH’s and Game Day Cakes’ pages.
I’m not sure how you managed to meet so many suckeye douchebags over there, but it is time to introduce you to some ‘Cane men.
Just give me 10 minutes and 2 shots of tequila at the All Canes party on Friday night, and I can make a match made in OSWho beatdown weekend heaven for you and some lucky ‘Cane gentleman.
Y-U-M….and I don’t recall who it was, but we only bake Canes goods in our Canes bikinis…of course, JSQ looks better in hers than I do in mine…I was going to write a little more, but let’s try to keep this G-rated as it is only 1130…
Oh, stop, Tereina. You’re hot. I caught Joey checking you out while you were making the []_[] fondant.
MEEEEOOOOOOOWWWWW!!!
Truth, will you be there to help us if we run out of frosting?
Haha thanks – also he went to Ole Miss so I don’t think someone who roots for a school that plays in the Cotton Bowl EVERY YEAR is allowed to trash talk.

No…no….please Tereina, do tell!! What else where you going to say?
And judging by the fact that my buddy still talks about his FSU experience because of you I’d say you’re plenty hot
But I do agree, JSQ is smoooooooohkin
LOL. JSQ…never said I wasn’t hot…just acknoweldged that you are hotter….Joey only checks me out because he can’t check you out…
LMAO…wait…your buddy talks about FSU because of me?!?!?!…ohhhhhhhh…NOT one of my better showings, but THAT is another story for another time…
Are there criminal booster laws in FL? Just wondering….if that dbag alleges that he personally gave cash, can he expose himself to more time?
JSQ says:

**************************************************************************
Bring your helmet Biatch!!
DAAAANG!!!
LOL
GO CANEZ!!!!!
Run out??? I’ll be there…I’m a Cane. There’s is no such word combination in my vocabulary as “run out”
I’ll have plenty. No worries.
Truth
In a nutshell, your comments on motivation are right on the money.
It has to come from within and not without. In business, I am always leary of people who say they need to be motivated or that their boss is not motivating them. If you need your boss/coach to motivate you, then you’ll never be truly motivated. As a leader, selection is EVERYTHING. Picking the right people, who have inner motivation, is the key. In fact as a leader, you can do more de-motivating than motivating; it’s more important to cultivate your motivated people.
Halftime speeches, motivational speeches, they work for a little while, maybe there’s a great play on the kickoff, or the team comes out sky high, but once that wears off, it comes down to this: do you want it more than the guy lined up accross from you. And are you willing to outlast/outwork/outhustle the c*cksucker across from you. That’s what the great Canes teams have always had. They outworked their competitors before the game and slapped them down during the games. They just wanted it more.
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5515780
Whatever the case was T, he looooooooooved you…
You left quite the impression.
I got a round of caipirihnas for you over some cupcakes for your version of the events…should be interesting LOL
It’s true CCC
And that was for Cav because he got caught up trying to say the same thing with different words to a loser baffoon that doesn’t know WTF he’s talking about – and then talking down to cav like he does.
Truth – gotcha
From Greg Cote’s column: ANYBODY BELIEVE NEVIN SHAPIRO? Miami Herald had a a story that Nevin Shapiro is looking for a publisher for a book that alleges NCAA violations by former UM football players. That’d be the same Nevin Shapiro who faces decades in prison for allegedly running a $900 million Ponzi scheme. Hilarious.
Hello everyone,
Does anyone know which uniforms our Canes will be wearing on Sept 11?
Hi JSQ,
My son and I and friends will try and stop by at your tail gate for FAMU. I get out of my medspa about 5 pm, and it is in Ft Lauderdale. It will be nice to meet some of the ‘Canes family.
White Jerseys
Hope they wear the all whites never did wear them last year…
Truth.
Your diatribe was spot on bro. Like I say, resort to Jay-Z here….
A wiseman once said don’t argue with fools, cuz people standing at a distance can’t tell who is who!
Truth’s friends at my FSWho Tailgate: Where’s Tereina?
Mary and Erika: Um, we don’t know . . .
At least we can laugh about it now!
Looking forward to seeing you in person, rejuvaphan!!!
Bg, as we have discussed, that is why I never went back. Besides, anything I said just would have been deleted anyway because God forbid anyone know what really went down.
I’m actually ashamed that people like that are ‘Canes fans.
bg, just responded to your e-mail with his contact info.
I am glad that I was LOVED at FSWho….
Truth’s friends: “Where’s Tereina?”
He does that still.
Every
Time
I
See
Him LOL
Why does he quickly follow it up with “Call em up and let’s go to tootsies!!!”
That must have been some weekend for you guys…
I’m sorry I missed it
Truth, the funny thing is, I forgot about who they were until you brought it up – after you golfed with them before your birthday.
But we did see them Sunday night and again at the tailgate on Monday.
I guess I was distracted by something else that weekend . . .
Like FSWho’s EPIC FAIL!!!
WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA [JSQ's evil laugh]
WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHA
Your head’s too big / It’s taking up too much room / Your head’s too big / It grows like a balloon / And it just might float away …
Tereina, Truth’s friends aren’t the only ones who remember you from Trailerhassee.
Ryan and Mike will be at OSWho.
And before you ask who they are, they are my nice friends from law school who were doing all those jaeger shots with you at AJs.
Confucius Say……
Do not argue with a fool.
For they have nothing to lose……..And all the time in the world to lose it in.
Hmmmm, Truth, who could you be talking about.
Btw, Tereina, I changed my mind – we are having greek salad with grilled chicken for dinner. Gotta look hot in our game day outfits, so salad it is!
Truth, I’d actually like some chicken soup with my salad, could you oblige?
LMAO…apparently I was the belle of the ball…well, for inquiring minds…I will be at FAMU on Thursday!! I remember Ryan and Mike. They are both FB friends.
And I recall shots of Te-kill-yah at AJs.
Salad it is. Flatbread sounded good, but salad works.
Ah yes, Tequila. After someone pi$$ed me off, you took me to the bar. Perhaps I should have gotten a clue then.
Anyway . . . no tequila in Columbus until AFTER we win.
And the shots are on Canez1.
Not literally though. I don’t think Sara would be down with that!
DAAAAANNNNNNGGGGGG!
Glad to read an article on Scoe’. One of my favorite Canes, post-Butch kids.
Or did he get recruited by Butch before he left?
Whatever………Kiddo got BACK on UF in the Peach Bowl!
Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeooooooowwwwwwwwwwmmmm!!!
Your head is so big that when people get close enough to you they start to orbit aaaaaaaaalllllllll the waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay aaround you…
Hurriphin, you getting down for a game this season?
I want to go to OSU
You’re so stupid you managed to trip over a cordless phone
LMAO. Took me a second . . . cordless! Hahahaha
Truth, I have an extra spot in my hotel room!
hahahahahaha, I just made it worse, didn’t I?
Veeeeeeeeeeeeeeery mean of you. I might just take you up on that…be careful. I am liable to show up!!!
This is the Randy that we know and love …

“Your head is so big that when people get close enough to you they start to orbit aaaaaaaaalllllllll the waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay aaround you…”
I made this up by the way! Thanks…I know
You’re head is so big, in the summer time you sell shade…
Bruiser’s inspector is going to be here in 15-30 minutes.
I’m actually getting misty-eyed.
Going to miss that guy.
He was at the last game at the Orange Bowl.
The first game at Dolphin Stadium.
He kept us warm when it rained during the UCF tailgate.
He held me as I cried after the Clemson game.
Six has some big shoes . . . er, wheels . . . to fill.
I hope some new lady gives him a nice home and awesome tailgates to host.
Bruiser C. Clark
6/13/2007 – 8/31/2010
Jello,
Yeah, @ Duke…….
(cue losing sound on The Price Is Right)
But I’ll be losing my Cane virginity that day!!
Wow, Hurriphin! LOL.
I wish I could be there to watch you get deflowered!
Scratch that, we cabbed it to E-4 from the Mayfair in the Grove for the last game in the Orange Bowl . . . but Bruiser got us to the Grove from Palm Beach! He braved gridlock on I-95 that morning.
This is heartbreaking. I wish I could have them both.
Cue Green Day “Time of Your Life.”
Only Tequilla I get close to is Cafe Patron. I’m buying!!! I ain’t scurred.
HATE TEQUILLA!!!
Hey BTW I went shopping this weekend
Grill and plenty of propane….check
Canopy…..check
Mad coolers…..check
Chips……..check
Soda and water…….check
Beer……check
Jager……..check
Plates, forks and knives…….check
Cooking utensils……check
I will also bring my laptop and air card so we can get some internets out there and hopefully watch some other games.
I am thinking about just hitting up a supermarket on Friday to grab the rest of the stuff. Not sure if I am in the mood to fight through costco. We’ll see what kind of mood I’m in.
I think we are in good shape.
Can you think of anything else??
T make it happen bro!
GO CANEZ!!!!!
T is getting the motivation of his life to come to Ohio State right now.
Although you can’t motivate those who don’t already have it in them, but I digress.
Canez1, that sounds awesome!!!!
Shoot me an e-mail on what you were thinking re: food and how much you are spending so people can chip in.
I will have the 500 jello shots and a few dozen cupcakes for the masses, but I’m thinking the food you buy, especially breakfast, should be for a more limited crowd.
No worries.
I will eat my share of cupcakes and jello shots LOL
Sara asked if she should make some cupcakes. I told her we are good in that dept. LOL
Any other food ideas? We are ready.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
Yeah, we are definitely covered and I get pi$$ed off when other b!tches cook. That’s MY department. Especially the baked goods.
We need breakfast sandwiches (english muffins or bagels, cheese, bacon and sausage), plus hashbrowns and bloody mary stuff for breakfast.
For lunch, we need burgers, dogs, and sausages. Buns plus condiments.
For in between, chips, dips, etc.
This is not all on you so whatever you want to get is cool and I can make others get the rest.
Just shoot me an e-mail about it and that way I can forward to other people and consult with our fellow tailgaters.
Sounds good love!
I will email you.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
And DANG, Canez1, YOU HAVE BEEN BUSY!
Making me look like an amateur over here!
Have you received your OSWho tickets yet?
Thanks so much, Truth. I like the White jerseys and the Orange jerseys best.
JSQ: I chocked up over Bruiser…he is…going to be missed.
And I only do Tequila with you, to cheer you up, so me doing it of my own accord was a big red (as in the HURRICANE RED) flag…next time.
Truth- the more the merrier at OSWho…we got BIG plans for the grudge match of the decade. Just today at lunch I had to listen to a Gaytor tell me that he thought that the “best” team was the suckeyes and that while in his heart he hoped that da U could pull it out…he was “concerned”- now here is where I wish I had JSQ’s knowledge of the game. I looked at him and simply said, NO team is more determined to beat them than us…THEY STOLE OUR 6TH NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP FROM US…someone, wisely, I might add, mentioned vodka and I was momentarily distracted…
Tereina, we all know how the 2008 Miami/UVA game was won.
Tequila shots.
The turn-around was uncanny once I started ordering shots for the game watch attendees.
Same thing happened with Duke in 2009.
Can’t be a coincidence.
The inspector man is downstairs in the parking lot with Bruiser now. I’m hoping he’s a ‘Canes fan. He seems to be straight, so I’m optimistic about how much I owe.
Fingers crossed!
Starting to get antsy about the Ohio State tickets arriving . . . feel like I need to have an armed guard watching my mailbox to avoid foul play.
LOL Ya I was bored this weekend. Too hot up here!
I had to call and change my address with the ticket place because when I ordered them I was at the old crib.
I called today and they said they should be here by the 8th. I was like that is cutting it pretty close son since we are leaving early on the 9th.
I guess they are overnighting them. As long as I have them in hand and on the road on the 9th I’m cool.
Here is my seat view. http://www.seatdata.com/images/ncaa_ohio_state/800×600/20b.jpg
Just change the section (____.jpg) for yours.
Can’t fukkin wait!!!
GO CANEZ!!!!!
Great seats!
Here are mine: http://www.seatdata.com/images/ncaa_ohio_state/800×600/30a.jpg
Awesome!
I can’t friggin wait!
I’m dyin ova here!
GO CANEZ!!!!!
Me too, Canez1! You got me pumped!
Good news, everyone!
Bruiser passed his inspection with flying colors!!!
I’m so proud.
I actually got teary-eyed telling my co-workers how well he did.
Boy, I’m going to miss him.
Yes, I get nostalgic over EVERYTHING. Deal.
man, busy blog today.
bad news for me personally . . . august is finished and it’s back to work again (maybe some of you know that europe comes to a stop in august) . . . i was enjoying lots of house projects and such.
beginning early thursday morning i leave to teach a long workshop and won’t be home until the following monday evening . . . and i won’t have any electronic devices where i am . . . so i won’t even know by how much miami wins . . . and who looks good and all.
when i get home monday i’ll have to stay up all night reading up on past blogs.
but that’s how it goes pretty much the entire autumn – i’ll pretty much miss every game . . . at least i will be able to “see” the ohio game (huddling at my computer in the middle of the night).
you all have a great time tailgating; a great time at the game; and a great time partying after the huge canes’ win.
I have my fingers crossed that the God’s of Dennis’ life will allow me to actually catch a break have things fall into place so that I may happily either be in Disney with the little guy OR be in Columbus with you guys…
One way or the other I will be happy.
One way I think my “bad” side will be extremely happy, exhausted and somehow needing water and food and possibly something to reattach my junk…
…of couse there is a strong possibilty that neither could happen and I’ll be stuck here in MIA with no little guy and you guys having a blast up there.
Than I will be very unhappy and possibly jumo into my car and DRIVE to C-Bus
If I do drive, I will bring my grill and wings…and beer
That’s what I like about football…you don’t need much
On the phone with the people who sold me the OSWho tickets for an exact ETA.
They are like “um, didn’t we e-mail you about this yesterday?”
Crazy JSQ, foaming at mouth: Yes, but I want to know the exact day I will receive them.
Scared operator: Um, sure. Hold on.
That was 5 minutes ago.
Oooh, just talked to Billy, who ROCKS. Gave me his private extension, told me to call him back Thursday, and has upgraded me to priority overnight. Should arrive, the latest, by Tuesday.
I can feel the ulcer subsiding already.
Truth, grill and wings and beer are fine, but they don’t make chicken enchiladas, jello shots and cupcakes now do they?!
Mary…
You know I love you…I do
But clearly you haven’t had my wings…they are AT LEAST equal to your enchiladas and you know how I feel about those. your Enchiladas AND my wings at the same tailgate would be mind blowing
Nothing is better than your cupcakes, though
When are your travel dates for cbus, JSQ?
Right now there is an itinerary from FLL to Cbus from the 9th to the 13th for $254…anything coming back the 12th or leaving the 10th changes the price exponentially.
Check that…I can leave the 10th with minimal damage to the price…but there is no coming back on the 12th…
forwarding you e-mail now, T.
Then off to the dealership to return Bruiser!
Wish me luck that I don’t cry to the lease manager when handing over the keys.
Good luck!!!!
Canes v OSU on espn classic.
Ugh!!!!
Turn it off pb
It’s lies..all lies.
Pb lol i was just coming to warn everyone.
We look like shyte!!
GO CANEZ!!!!!
Shout out to J – hopefully they’ll be smart enough to use your talents for their own technological ventures
Is the OL getting assraped again?!!
Why oh why do I watch this game, EVERY TIME they re-show it?!?
DAMN. IT.
They just flat out wanted it more.
No way around it.
Winslow and mcgahee are the only ones that got off the bus.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
There goes Willie-Mac’s knee.
Sucks. Still hasn’t cut recovered from that.
Thats gonna hurt in the morning!!!
GO CANEZ!!!!!
Go Canes!
Scoe’ showed face too.
And we looked shook.
Krenzel only completed five passes till this point?
Why did we lose again, CANEZ1?
The OL got assraped hurri…that’s how
Still…don’t care what anyone says…Miami got screwed by Terry Porter.
T, the leasing manager at the Ford dealership is a 18 year ‘Canes season ticket holder! I showed him EOTH, PBCC an Game Day Cakes. He is also from Missouri. Started playing the fight song for me. Great guy!
Shout out to Alan at Maroone Ford in Delray!
I’m noticing a theme with nearly every single loss we’ve had since 2000 @ UW, till now………

Depth Chart Released…
http://vmedia.rivals.com/uploads/903/981700.pdf
As Truth said, don’t make a big deal out of this depth chart.
Damn skippy, Truth.
If it was holding…..CALL HOLDING.
Don’t try and save face, at the expenses of The Canes.
Hey bg…
Where’s super fast Jamal Reid at S?
Hurri im still not sure how they scored…..
GO CANEZ!!!!!
…but I should be careful because I don’t want to sound like I know everything.
You know I’m only good for 5 solid bits of info a year…
Alright, now I’m really done watching.
Can’t stand to see my baby give that stay focused speech, and then watch what’s coming around the corner.
He was telling the gang to put it in their minds that they had to go back out there.
To watch him end the game head down, on his knees, is just too much for me to bear today.
Turn it hurri
It’s lies…all lies
Man that was the biggest homer call of all time.
I told you it was lies…
And we still waiting on the 5 bits of tid!
pb, you got me hype for a minute announcing that that game was on, i always get hype watching the 1st quarter of that game. We came out playing like we were suppose too, i can only watch it up until roscoe parrish brought that punt return back, but than to watch us get conservative on the very 1st offensive play, perfect time to run another screen, instead we run the ball with jared, than ohio st. teed off on the next play knowing we were going to throw it, dorsey gets sacked, than we run the play we should have run on 1st down on 3rd down, in comes seivers.
This year, reminds me of the oklahoma redemption game1
Canez1, shannon took care of getting rid of that soft not competing crap as fast as he could, and after he had to sit their and watch wisconsin basically man-handle us for the most part, shannon vowed to himself to make sure that doesn’t happen again, so this year he set out to make this team tougher, that goes to coaching, because he designed and came up with ways to make this team tougher. I luv hearing how shanon is basically treating forston like he did cortez for the most part, just rode his azz all the way to the #1 draft pick, and he’s not gone let up off of marcus as long as he’s here, why, because he knows what’s deep down inside of marcus, and that’s Greatness. kevin nelson is going thru that same metamorphis now with the double whammy shannon and barrow on his azz from day 1, excepting nothing less but greatness. I like ho nelson realized real quick, “this ain’t highschool no more”, lol and “they were a lot nicer during recruiting”.
As far competitiveness goes, you’re either a winner or a loser, theirs a road to both, and being afraid of competition, you know what road you belong on. In Miami, i know for a fact, the majority of us knew when we had a bullshat coach, but after he got thru finish talking about nothing, we made sure each of us were ready to go out their and bust somebody’s azz. pre-game speeches, not needed, all the majority of people i know needed to know was that the other team showed up, and that by itself was disrespectful.
Time to make cupcakes for the tailgate!
>>>>>>>>
HAHAHAHA, Truth, you old sly devil. haha That shyt was ridiculous…”external motivation.” Wha??
Everything you said above is absolutely true. Those are the keys but none of those fools seem to understand it, AT ALL.
Shannon knows it’s not about rah-rah, win one for the gipper speeches. It’s about everyday in practice playing at or above game level intensity because you’re battling someone or two or three other ballers for PT.
I’m done with that foolishness. Point taken.

man, busy blog today.
bad news for me personally . . . august is finished and it’s back to work again (maybe some of you know that europe comes to a stop in august) . . . i was enjoying lots of house projects and such.
beginning early thursday morning i leave to teach a long workshop and won’t be home until the following monday evening . . . and i won’t have any electronic devices where i am . . . so i won’t even know by how much miami wins . . . and who looks good and all.
when i get home monday i’ll have to stay up all night reading up on past blogs.
but that’s how it goes pretty much the entire autumn – i’ll pretty much miss every game . . . at least i will be able to “see” the ohio game (huddling at my computer in the middle of the night).
you all have a great time tailgating; a great time at the game; and a great time partying after the huge canes’ win.
>>>>>>
Damn bro. That is truly a drag. It’s time to ditch that Euro stuff bro. haha
Youtube will have tons of highlights though, so we’ll post links for you.
What the hell happened to Reid? Damn. I was expecting him to get some burn.

All the troublemakers are at Florida now. Instant classic!
I can’t understand for the life of me WTH yall keep watching that game…lol…everybody in the cfb world knows um won that game but didn’t…and in all realness didn’t deserve too…like cav said in the 1st qtr um can out like they waz posed to but from then on out played like osu waz gonna lay down but they didn’t and by the time um realized it they trying to kick a fg to tie the game…I jus can’t bring myself to watch it again…makes me want to cry all over again and ruin my day..lol…and cav I been peeking in on the whole motivation thing on tos and I lol er time it’s discussed…give me sum1 on my team or in life that’s SELF MOTIVATED over sum1 that needs to be poked and primed anytime…lol
For parking on the west side of the stadium is it best to get off at the turnpike and go to university? Or use the turnpike access exit?
DZ8, I seriously think those dudes at UF and UGA are juicing. The behavior patterns are classic roid rage behavior, just like those players at Nebraska used to do. UGA has had 33 arrests since 2007.
I’d be surprised, seriously surprised if Richt did this to his players. Oscar Meyer I’m sure is the mind behind it all, unconsciously of course.
Either way, something ain’t right up there.
Did anyone notice Smith is doubtful for the game?
Nash, that shyt was crazy over there! Having your team leaders as Sharpton, Fox, Pipho, Holmes, Joseph, Shields, R. Phillips, Chavez Grant, Trump et al doesn’t deflate your team? Are y’all serious.
Shwarma we use university. if you take the turnpike exit you have to go around the stadium to get to the west side.
Peebs, yeah, I did notice that. When did that happen?
As far competitiveness goes, you’re either a winner or a loser, theirs a road to both, and being afraid of competition, you know what road you belong on. There it is. haha And that’s what Shannon eats, sleeps and drinks, and most improtantly, recruits, teaches and now expects.

One more time for the record, there will be NO black Miami Hurricanes football jersey this fall. That is simply another Intraweb rumor.
allCanes.com is an official carrier of Nike merchandise and has been since the 1970s. If you want UM jersey-related info, we’re your “source”.
Miami is again one of ten teams that will be part of Nike’s Pro Combat line this fall. It will be a different jersey than you saw last year in the season finale at South Florida and the bowl game.
For starters, the Canes will be wearing the new-look jersey at home this year, on Saturday November 20th when Virginia Tech comes to town. The new uniform will consist of the following:
- A green helmet. (After all the joking over the years, seriously.)
- Orange jersey. (Numbers are same font, palm tree pattern inside number.)
- Orange pants. (Pattern inside number is same pattern running down leg. “U” logo by the knee.)
- Orange / Green / Black shoes.
- Same gloves as last year, forming a “U” when put together.
Michael “The Playmaker” Irvin will be Miami’s former player acting as ‘team rep’ for the new-look jerseys and more info will be available Wednesday morning on Nike’s Facebook page. Check back there for the latest … not on the ill-informed message boards.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
http://blog.allcanes.com/2010/08/um-jersey-talk-dont-believe-hype.html
Green hat, orange jersey & pants…….
Probably will look better on a player than on a hanger.
Next year we will be looking back at these as the “Halloween Unis’”
Surprise, surprise…..
Me and CANEZ1, us usual, the coolest guys up in this piece.
all the majority of people i know needed to know was that the other team showed up, and that by itself was disrespectful.
————————————————-
Hell yeah! Post of the day!
I don’t think the all orange with a green helmet will look that bad.
Packing, gearing up for tomorrow! It’s almost here…
So if the lid is green, then the orange half of the “U” is gonna be the only part that shows up?
Weak.
Is that stupid Hurricane Earl gonna touch down on Thursday? It’s supposed to phuck sh!t up, around this way.

Yeah…um…not feeling an orange on orange with a green helmet get up…but I’ll wait till tomorrow to see how it looks, I guess.
Herbie is a good guy…he’s all over Miami’s jock. But what’s he going to do when OSU loses to Miami and Iowa – that’s right, you heard it here first – and Cmac knock Pryor into next week??
Andrew Smiff had a little issue a little while ago so now he’s “hurt”
Don’t worry about it
Nash, I just got listening to the Randy interview like 5 minutes ago…
This isn’t directed to anyone, but if your name is Tom listen up…
Man up. Stop belittling people and for God’s sake don’t pretend you’re better than any of your blogging brethren. I know you read these…
Life is short brother. Any good business man knows you’re only as good as your product. You’re product happens to be the people that grace you with their presence in your world daily.
It’s not you. You’re boring. Dumb. And a big old goofy – never cool – dork.
You’re people are not. Let them be and you’ll be successful.
I’m juuuuuuuuuuuuust sayin
Anyone else think the Dolphins are REALLY going to suck this year?
That OL is horrific. ATL destroyed it the other night and their front 7 ain’t sh*t. At NFL prices I don’t see myself going to any games…not worth it.
But I do like the QB play…
“Andrew Smiff had a little issue a little while ago so now he’s “hurt”
upper extremity = brain fart?
yeah Truth, I’m guessing anywhere between 6-10 and 8-8 this year.
They looked good for a half against Jax, but that’s about it…
KL YEP
Mike…absolutely. I know they’re working hard to build a SB winner but they don’t look the past on the OL or DL

SMH at the Dolphins having a crappy OL but Sparano used to be an OL coach and the DL stinks but we just HAD to let Jason Taylor go to the Jets (the STINKIN’ Jets of all places). I’m gonna puke when he sacks Chad Henne. Seriously.
I’m sick of the Dolphins sucking. It’s been like, what… 10 YEARS!

At least Ted Ginn has a new family.

Like Captain O says, the Phins ain’t Boss enough upfront on both sides to be a playoff team. And the secondary is gonna be scary.

nashville, leave cj holton alone, you know the only reason we recruit trailerhassee territory is for special team players. He’s one of the skinniest linebackers we got. To slow for safety, to small to be and every down linebacker, hell or an any down linebacker. I like how at the same time the season is starting, while sebastian is of course the team mascot and the best one in college football, the real eblem is showing up on the east coast at about the same time too, HURRICANE WARNINGS all over the place in full effect, right now it’s Hurricane “from the backwoods of anywhere” Earl, than right after that comes Hurricane “U”. Earl with the Hurricane Intro, bcs trophy on the outro! Meanwhile v-tech still keeps talking about that spot they still got empty waiting on a national championship trophy, “not going anywhere for a while, eat snickers”.
cav, it would be funny to see us win this upcoming game something like 20 to zero, like in the old days where jimy would play scrub teams close right before the so called big games, and than turn around and anihilate them, get em thinking since that so called below average team played us close, we’re going to destroy them, hmmmm.

my bad; it was calhoun
some comments from daniel kirsner:
“Bryant McKinnie has pledged to work with Seantrel Henderson in the offseason. This can only be good.
Seantrel recently had a couple of good practices, even showing great quickness and footwork against speed rusher Marcus Robinson. He might contribute this year!
John Calhoun is out for the season. This hurts bad if Pat Hill gets injured. Pray for the Panda. And wish good luck to Calhoun in recovery. He’s gonna have to be great in 2011.
I’m gonna throw this prediction out there: James Gaines will start at MLB for the ‘Canes from 2011 until he gets drafted in the first round of the NFL draft. During the open practice he was the most impressive of the freshmen linebackers. Physically, he’s is 6’3 and 215, and he’s only 17! Gaines could easily be 6’3 and 240 in 2 years. He is the reason that all of those recruiting websites don’t matter.”

Miller returning punts could be incredible.
Calm down Canez…don’t be so mean. Nelson is actually really “injured” cuz of slamming into people with all he’s got.

That would be straight out of the Art of War. haha But I think the cat’s already out of the bag with this team. However, we still have lots of surprises in real terms because very few people have seen us in action, and there’s no film evidence, until tomorrow night at least.
OSU meanwhile is an open book, and they’ll definitely have to show more against Marshall than we’ll show against FAMU.
