Last night, in front of a crowd of 53,726, your Miami Hurricanes weren’t bluffing as they beat an overmatched Florida A&M Rattlers team 45-0.
After receiving the opening kickoff, ‘Canes QB Jacory Harris led the offense down the field in less than two minutes in hurry-up fashion to take a quick 7-0 lead. Harris was 12-of-15 for 210 yards and three touchdown tosses in the first half. Senior WR Leonard Hankerson led the way for the WR corps with six receptions for 115 yards, catching the first two scores from Harris on basically the same play, a WR seam route.
“I went out there and took care of my business,” Harris said. “As a team, we came out there and did everything we had to do in the first half, and coach sat us out for the rest of the game. I guess it was well-deserved.”
Surprisingly, UM RB Lamar Miller led the offense in rushing, carrying the ball 11 times for 66 yards and a score. Graig Cooper even saw action in the second half, looking good coming off major knee surgery.
“A lot of things we learned from last year really helped us out,” Coach Randy Shannon said. “Now we’re an older group and they don’t look ahead anymore. They stay focused on what we’re trying to get done. They could have come out here and started off flat or got in a frenzy early and then in the second quarter went to sleep. But they didn’t.”
The Hurricanes outgained the Rattlers 405-110 on offense. On defense, sacking the quarterback was the name of the game. Marcus Forston, Olivier Vernon, Marcus Robinson, and Josh Holmes all notched sacks. UM totaled eight sacks on opening night. The Hurricanes’ defense held FAMU to just 52 yards on 39 carries – the fewest yards allowed since holding North Carolina to 35 rushing yards on 33 carries on Sept. 27, 2008. The ‘Canes secured their first shutout since FIU in 2006. (35-0)
On of the biggest highlights of the evening was when safety Ray Ray Armstrong intercepted a pass and returned it for a score in the first the half, giving UM a 28-0 lead, reminding us all of why the coaching staff awarded him the #26 jersey. “I saw the end zone and it turned back into high school again,” said Armstrong, who played some quarterback in high school. “It felt like I was on offense.”
The Rattlers head coach Joe Taylor had this to say: “That’s a tremendous football team. That’s the bottom line. To come down in this atmosphere and play against a team like that, that’s the way to get better. They are legitimately in the top 15, that’s for sure.”
Sixteen players made their first appearances as Hurricanes on Thursday evening: Spencer Whipple, Lamar Miller, Eduardo Clements, Maurice Hagens, Shayon Greene, James Gaines, Jared Wheeler, Seantrel Henderson, Allen Hurns, Asante Cleveland, Luther Robinson, Kelvin Cain, Chase Ford, Billy Sanders, Kacy Rodgers and Dyron Dye.
The Hurricanes face the hated Buckeyes, who beat Marshall last night 42-7, in 8 days. Our very own JSQ will be hosting a tailgate in Columbus starting at 6am on game day. Revenge will be on all our minds, and the former players and fans have a lot riding on this game: pride.

FIRST?!…because I’m no lady!
First!
Go Canes!
NICE, TEREINA!
Tereina won the award for most improved tailgater.
What was I? The most stressed-out tailgater? Um, until the jello shots kicked in at least!
Tereina, you want to explain the lady comment?
Mike will never live that down!!!
P.S., I’m really glad we didn’t drink inside the stadium! Can you imagine?
Thanks again for the waters, Truth!
Great to meet you, KL! I had a blast! Loved all the Yukon talk with Mr. KL!
No doubt JSQ was the most stressed out-tailgater…okay…so let’s see, JSQ, HAPPY to explain, I will leave it to you to to add as you see fit…
After JSQ’s totally rocking tailgate, Hurricane Randy was driving Six north….we stop (ask JSQ)…she exits Six, MiamiMike also exits Six and looks back in and asks: anyone else need out…ladies…Tereina? It was…AWESOME.
And that was AFTER I kept him aware of the scores….you’ll get yours…
And I am so exctied I was first!!!!
GO CANES!!!
Nice pics..Great to see 53,000 show up for a Thursday night game. Now we can officially focus on the Suckeyes!
I think the hour of jokes about Mike’s foot-in-mouth comment while we were stuffing our faces with McDonalds at my house (while Sebastian and Baraka begged for “fwench fwies”) was even better.
At FSU you need to say something like “I can’t open this jar, can someone help me? Gentlemen . . . Mike?”
hahahahaha
j/k partner. Hilarious, though!
Excuse me, I don’t know what came over me . . .
FSWHO ^
Yeah, Rashad, people were lined up as early as 2:45 to get into the stadium.
Last time we had a Thursday season opener (Charleston Southern), it looked like a Marlins game against the Rockies or something an hour before kickoff. Meaning, pretty dead, not many rocking tailgates.
Yesterday was awesome. I am really excited about this season and I like that I am not alone!
Good idea JSQ….I wish that I had thought of it myself…ohhhhh…I have another idea for my nickname here on the site…some play on my brain damage… or “NotaLadyCane”….
Speaking of those frwench frwies…I think I proved him right by wolfing everything down in Six in the two minutes it took us to get back to TGHQ
Thats great!!! I hope theres 70,000 there for the FSWHO game.. And on a side note…You can never trust a Dave Wannstedt coached team. haha
JSQ, I’m looking for highlights of the OSU game now. I’ll find them or not, then write the piece.

Not sure if this was posted already..Predictions from Shandel and Steve from the S.S.
Cav, you need to dvr the game…will be replayed on the big ten network at 1 pm. and probably at least a ton more after that.
just ready play on is only for Windows. Garbage.
NotaLadyCane = LOVE IT!!! So funny!
We were one of the first ones lined up outside of the stadium. For a Thursday night game it was crazy!
Great Cav, sounds good!
KL made me realize I should probably post less stuff about myself on here – she was immediately able to recognize Six at the gates!!! hahahaah
Thought you would…sooooo looking forward to our trek to trounce the suckeyes…it’s going to be a great! Alright, from here on out I am NotaLadyCane.
I’m so mad I went to the Game Watch in Chicago and they were streaming the game on a computer via ESPN3.com that was hooked up to a TV – then the internet went down and I missed the entire game. ONE WEEK UNTIL COLUMBUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That sucks, Reva!
Yes, one week from today, Tereina and I will be putting the finishing touches on 500 jello shots and a few dozen cupcakes for the tailgate. All in a suckeye’s kitchen. Then I will be off to the airport to get you!
By the way, with my cupcakes and jello shots, the ‘Canes are undefeated. They simply can’t be stopped.
Frankly, I will take it as a personal insult to my cupcakes and jello shots if the suckeyes even show up for the game. They are so obviously going to lose.
It was great to see JSQ and meet Lady Tereina, Mike and Randy.
The Cherry popping during the 4th qt was fun, too!!
The score could have Been 120-0 easily. This is a good football team…
And Jacory shouldve been 14-15 and 5 Td’s
I know, I can’t wait to see that! And another benefit to deleting Steve from Fbook was it spared me all the inane GO BUCKEYES texts last night when they played. Amen to that!
Um, Truth, people might misunderstand what you mean by that!
Truth…get it right…I’m no lady…good to meet you…and everyone else whose EOTH name I don’t know/remember.
Go Canes!

WR Kelvin Benjamin
QB Teddy B.
WR Eli R.
LB New commit Keith Brown (2012)
K Mauro Bondi
WR Marken Michel
RB Sony Michel (2014) – FUTURE BEAST!
Canes looked efficient, poised and dominant. Even though the final scores was similar to last year’s game, the team looked totally different.
They finally looked like men out there.
I am totally confident that win or lose, they are going to give OSU all they can handle next Saturday. And I’ll say it now and stick to it all week. The one and ONLY key to this game is constant pressure on Pryor, executed with excellent containment.
If they do that, contninually disrupt their offense and make Pryor throws before he’s ready, they will win this game.
Absofrickenlutely pb!
No one is going to keep Miami from scoring points. But the D has to contain Pryor and keep him in the pocket.
…and tackle the guy with the ball
Oh, and the RT has to block
Where are the tailgate pics?
Let’s work on tackling and wrapping up this week.
I’m just saying.
Word on the street is that Jacory threw a couple of ropes last night……
Don’t let me find out kiddo has developed Elway’s arm!
Wow!
I get home only to find I’ve already been thrown under the bus! LOL, it was hilarious!
I know its all in fun.
Truth, great to meet you; Randy and I really enjoyed talking with you.
Overall, we had a blast, we have a special football team on our hands, and Seantrel Henderson is effing massive! You really can’t appreciate how BIG he is until you seem him with your own eye balls. It was funny, he was just swatting the FAMU ends out of the way. He’s going to be ridiculous.
I was really impressed by Miller and Clements. Those guys are gonna ball.
Very crisp performance except for two things. Gotta tighten up the snap back to the holder and we still have to figure out who the #2 QB is.
Be back in about an hour.
Whooop, there it is….
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYfLTyN_dCA
Ug, sooooo tired!!!
Last night was so fun! I can’t wait until next Saturday!!!
**Just discovered several ant bites**
They are itching like crazy…
I’d actually say there are a couple of keys. Definitely contain and pressure Pryor, even if it means having a spy on him. But in their best games, their RBs, Sain and Herron had strong games.
One of the hidden keys to OSU is not giving up the big play. They had about four big plays yesterday against Marshall that were really the keys to the game. The plays weren’t special at all either. If they didn’t get big plays, the drives stalled a few times.
Also, as Canez1 pointed out, they didn’t net a sack against Marshall but Marshall their QB 3 times.
As far as we’re concerned, I hear people saying they don’t know what take away from the game but to me, as I thought about it today, the biggest thing to take away from the game was how much better we looked this year against them compared to last year. It’s a completely different, better, more mature team in every respect.

Finally calling it a weekend!! Incompetence sucks
Like a Hoover!!
Time to grab my best buddy and have a great weekend!
Did everyone die?
I’m about to pass out… Hey guys, we won an award for the first blogpoll results:
Next we have the Coulter/Kos Award and the Straight Bangin’ Award, which are again different sides of the same coin. The CKA and SBA go to the blogs with the highest and lowest bias rating, respectively. Bias rating is calculated by subtracting the blogger’s vote for his own team from the poll-wide average. A high number indicates you are shameless homer. A low number indicates that you suffer from an abusive relationship with your football team.
# Blog Team Ballot Bias
1 Eye of the Hurricane Miami Hurricanes ballot 7.30
2 RazorBloggers Arkansas Razorbacks ballot 6.37
3 Mountaineer Sports West Virg Mountaineers ballot 5.48
4 BCDraft Boston College Eagles ballot 4.68
5 The Purple Wimple TCU Horned Frogs ballot 3.95
A reminder/introduction: this is bad. For the past three years the poll has tracked the fate of the teams that “win” this dubious award against the spread and straight up. The results have been a warning to anyone daring enough to overrate their team. Last year the award was 10-3 against the spread. Underperformance is almost guaranteed. Last year’s most horrifying CK-inspired result: Nebraska committed more turnovers than they scored points in a 9-7 loss to Iowa State.
This won’t be a big deal for Miami, though, as their first game is against… drumroll… Florida A&M. Maybe it will linger on to their week two matchup against Ohio State–last year the CK Award waited through a bye to wreak its terrible vengeance on the Cornhuskers.

The reason I think Miami wasnt trying on punts ie. punt blocks cause they didnt wana show osu ne thang
I’m at the Lisa Lampanelli show at the Improv. I have 4 waters in front of me and am trying not to fall asleep before she comes on. They have a Miami Hurricane drink here. I need sleep.
Lisa Lampanelli is hilarious. She’s always on Howard and I laugh when ever she makes an appearance.
There are always lots of keys to a game – some more important than the others, but for OSU it really does come down to the DL and their containment of Pryor.
Cmac manning the middle is also a big key. When OSU runs they really like to pound it right up the middle. 44 can’t be doing the electric slide out there on their guards.
Offensively – I don’t know…if Miami can block up front with any consistency there is just no way the O doesn’t put up at least 30. Franklin is going to have to pack his lunch cuz he’s going to have his hands full. If he can’t block his monster 1 on 1 I’m worried he’ll need to be helped and then OSU will flood the right side of the OL with different blitzes.
I am very pleased with how dominant the team was. Jascory had 2 TD’s dropped and still he looked great out there. It’s amazing how much production the offense got without showing anything at all.
I said it last week and I say it till I see it…no one is going to keep this offense out of the endzone.
But you guys to seem to discount OSU on their front 7 and I’m not sure why? They have players…good ones and with a guy like Heyward on the DL if he gets Rollin he makes the whole DL better.
It’s going to be a looooooooooooong 8 days
After lookin at the hurry up i think its a perfect way to keep osu on their heels and tire them out early. We should stay in it as long as possible and run those dudes up and down the field.
Im scared of those cb blitzes cause they are going to cause pryor to flee. Our dl is going to have to maintain their rush lanes and be extremely disciplined. Option like.
It will be interesting to see the coaching adjustments made between these two good teams.
We cant beat them at their game.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
Remember how well Miami contained Mini-Vick in 05?
It’s gotta be like that
Lampinelli is the queen of roasts. Shes a badazz.
Not sure if i would like her standup.
She plays the hole datin black guys thing too much. Gets old after a while.
Shes alot funnier makin fun of people.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
I’d bet big $$$ the CB blitz is going to be used very very sparingly
So what’s the chicks name in the pic?
T thats exactly what i was thinking. Flush him from the outside in. Have to be real disciplined tho.
Hopefully we rock that gameplan. We have better talent imo on this team.
Its doable.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
LOL not sure.

I don’t get it. That’s Ogletree and Shirley both for stealing.
Canez1, at this time next week, the tailgate will already be set up and we will already be a dozen jello shots into the morning.
I am so freaking excited!!!!
I talked to two crocs yesterday that I actually respect and like (a coworker and my eye doctor/former kickball teammate) and they both asked me if I thought the ‘Canes could win.
I was almost offended by the question. I said I had no doubts in my mind, the ‘Canes will walk out of the shoe with a W.
Not the orange and green kool aid talking because I usually have my doubts but think we can pull it out. I KNOW we will win this.
We have the talent, but really, it comes down to who wants it more.
The suckeyes could not even fathom in their tiny little Ohio taint brains how much this means to Miami.
1 week until we settle all family business on our way to the top.
Does anyone else almost feel sorry for UNC? I wish they could beat LSU. You just know SEC people will count this as part of their so-called “dominance.”
btw, Truth, CTDAFMUISYN
Yes JSQ I know what you are saying. I would like them to beat LSU but not sure that will happen. The SEC homers speak ad nauseam about it’s dominance, Blah, Blah, Blah….barf!
Jsq im soooo hypd.
Im going to check on the rental car today and finish shopping. If u can think of anything else i could bring shoot me am email. I want to get everything wrapped up cause i have to work my ass off mon to wed.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
I def feel bad for unc. Never like to see a team castrated like that.
O well just glad its not us.
F em
GO CANEZ!!!!!
Canez1 get those people approved!
side note: I closed Johnny Damon’s Beach home for him when he was with the Red Sox’s a few years back and got nothing. The gentlemen who bought the house got a signed ball but they did ask for one and I did not.
Go Canes!!
i don’t feel bad for UNC. i doubt they felt bad for us when we were on probation. you just play with the guys available.
F unc!!!!!
CC tryin sista!! Im actually too busy right now if you can believe that lol. I have to fund my canez addiction tho
.
Question for everyone. Who is going to step up in this game and take the next step towards U greatness?
We r going to need more than one but its interesting to think about.
Im ready to bust out today!!!!! Cant take it.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
I like alot of what i saw thursday night. In one one game, we already got about 1/3 of the sacks we had last year, FAMU or not. That olivier vernon has come to play since day one, to add him with petri is a borderline crime. I luv seeing him lined up, starting opening day last year against fsu, cav, i’m with you, i can’t see vernon losing that spot any time soon. With 3.5 sacks, whoever beats him out will be able to go to the pro’s. I’m just waiting for marcus robinson to blast somebody and stop all that patting players down to the ground, he’s just as atheletic as anybody as well. Good to see ray ray go from defense to offense. Something that’s been missing at UM for to long.
The main thing i saw that i haven’t seen from a UM d-line is having that many d-linemen get in the backfield at the same time. You could tell guys were getting in the backfield so quick, they thought they were being setup for screen plays or something, the more and more they realize how what petri has been teaching really works, the more they’ll expect to be in that backfield. The main thing about this team is, we gotta a whole lot of guys who go out on that field expecting to dominate their man now. With petri here now, we’ll start hearing the term “jailbreak” being thrown around a lil more often, which back in the day, when you would hear an announcer say that in the 80′s, whether they meant anything by it or not, it was always F U, why the hell you gotta use jailbreak against us when we playing!.
We’re going ot get better at running the ball as the season goes on, we’ll be a better running team, if we’re able to pass block, good luck defenses. I like what i saw offensively, like we said, the only thing to look for really is this team being more consistent and able to sustain that high level of play that we saw glimpses of last year longer during games. I saw that thursday night from the offense. Good to see a whole lot of players/back-ups getting alot of playing time. That’s how it is suppose to be. Also, don’t get to carried away about the crowd that showed up, if we opened up with FAMU every year, you’d see a crowd like that, in fact, if they said the FAMU band was playing at halftime for all of our home games, the games would be sold out although people still don’t show up until the middle of the 2nd quarter.
hankerson, back to making it look like he did in highschool, lol, and it won’t just be against FAMU, jacory, putting the ball on the money just like usual, hankerson could probably catch the ball with one hand for real. Guys were excited to play FAMU, but at the same time, anybody who’s ever been on a dominant team no, after you start dominating teams like that, you not as hype during the game. Next week though, we’re going to see how many players we got that’ll show up and show more vs a better opponent.
You right about cmac and the electric slide out their, he looks lost, but kylan must look worst, so we’ll see, the only good thing about cmac at the mike spot is in pass coverage, he’ll more than likel get his hands on a few passes and possibly take 1 or 2 back this year if he remains their. aldarius johnson iss a whole lot quicker coming out of his routes, if yall looking for him to gain blazing speed, forget about it, he’s just always going to be that real smooth wide-out, that gets it done irregardless of who the opponent is. With hankerson playing at the level he is playing at, going to be fun when we line up with hank, aldarius and benjamin out their at the same time. allen hurns look good and eduardo clements doing just what he did at booker team, come in and ball and make an impact early an often. Another one of them guys who when he gets on the field, you’re going to notice, you won’t see highlight of him being some physical freak, but what you’ll get from him is a player that all he does is produce and moves forward and is real decisive.
We got some speed on defense in that secondary, our linebackers, with the exception of spence need to start showing up a lil more often, thank goodness for coach petri though, having him here helps out our linebackers. Good to see spence still doing his thing out their, going to be fun seeing how this team continues to come together, the main thing is just watctching these guys develop and play with confidence.
Come next week, we’ll see a team playing that much harder, it was funny watching seantrel henderson at right tackle, whoever he was blocking against in pass protection had no chance. Also, it was good to see us not destroy FAMU to much so they can be healthy for their own conference, shutting it down against a team like FAMU is what you’re suppose to do, shannon was not out their to embarass FAMU, i’m glad he’s here a man that understands the FAMU tradition and what the program means to DADE COUNTY.
I like what i saw from the offense, from a defensive standpoint, stat wise it was impressive, but their are some things that need to be worked on, like defending that stretch play, i know ohigho st. is going to try and run a fake stretch play and have pryor either pull up and throw it, or keep the ball and run it the oppossite way. good call on forston needing to stay on his feet more as well, if him and ramon buchannon can stay on their feet more, those two will play at a higher level more consistently. over-all, good game, to be able to show dominance is what we saw thursday night, come this next week, it’s going ot be fun, what i like about hankerson, he doesn’t get to high or low, and his game is just that smooth. i would luv to see us start this game off offensively like we did against fsu last year. shannon is strategic, he’s using miller like damien berry was used last year, the difference is, miller is a home run threat so if a defense even tries to take a nap, “thatz 6 points”.
That guy doesn’t slow down, it was funny watch miller blow past pat hill on that one play, lamar miller would’ve fit in perfectly with that offense dennis erickson brought here, no fullback, cause for real, with miller, a fullback will almost basically be in his way. Going to be a fun game next week though, i know tye praying for rain in ohio, and they will definitely let the grass grow a lil higher for next week.
Calvin – my eyes are sprained
Wow Erin is on the stage now! No longer just the T&A on the sidelines.
U greatness?
Damien Berry or Mike James – who ever whip let’s get hot.
On D? #56 – if Pryor tries to run away to his left he’s going to run down.
Cav – I’m surprised you didn’t remark on how much more efficient #35 was the other night. You had asked me who I thought was going to get the most out of Petri’s coaching and I really believed he would take a big step forward.
LOL JSQ – I’m going to need a translation for that one…
Calvin is right on the money about FAMU. No way was Randy going to embarass FAMU. That’s what I was saying before. Those of us that have spent time in the 305 – that have kids that are competing with and against the best athletes in those schools and neighborhoods in the 305 – knowwhat I’m talking about. Let’s put it this way, had it been Miami (OH), we would have dropped 70 on them.
CMac vs Krob in the middle is like Marino Vs Feidler at QB
And you saw what I saw Thursday so you can imagine how scurred I was to think 36 might start
Ccc and Calvin that is 100% true.
Anyone at that stadium could see that if the 1′s had stayed in they would have scores 100
Also, i’mma tell you right now, brandon washington is hell out their and will be one of the better o-linemen in college football, that guy was the o-linemen i saw down the field blocking the most, he was taking his guy for about an 8 to 15 yard ride on a whole lot of plays. That guy is explosive already out their, like doc walker said” i’m branding him as the next generation of road graders right now”. When it all comes full circle, these will be some of the best if not the best collection of o-line talent to ever come thru UM at the same time. Add in the fact who they’ll be blocking for, for a defensive headcoach, shannon is going to keep an explosive offense.
defensively, i like what harris had to say after the game about us not getting more 3 and outs, that’s always the money down right their. Might be a good time to bring out the pay for play pot for 3rd downs only, that’ll help get us off the field again. I luv seeing that those gears miller has, that guy is a touchdown waiting to happen.
Also, was i the only one thinking all night, did al Michaels get a part time job or something, this aint monday/sunday night football, than they go to the commentators booth and some guy looking like troop #15 cub scout leader for the renegade regals division.
T I think berry busts out but not until late in the game.
The de’s need to keep contain this week more than ever.
Should be a good chess match up front.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
I was glad to see Bwash staying into the 4th also to give him plenty of work.
It’s true Canez
Berry or James will probably average 2-3 a carry for 2 1/2 quarters…but come the 4th – after 6 breaks their backs – one of those to will pound them into submission
Wait…pound into submission. Hmmmmmmm
Ive seen erin andrews naked.
Jus sayin….

rofl, man you can’t say or pinpoint yourself/physical condition like that, so correction, that’s an “upper extremity” haven’tyou learned anything from coach shannon yet!
Great point about cmac and kylan, all you had to do was say fiedler, seriously, WTF wannstedt doing, you got fielder and you hanging your headcoaching job on him, meanwhile, drew brees sitting right their in the draft and we go and get jamar fletcher when madison and surtain were in their primes, lol, that game against utah is just what the mustache ordered, lways coming up short, he needs to go back to being a coordinator somewhere, he’ll always have solid teams, but never championship teams.
Plus, anybody who falls for going out to utah to play, better get to that state 20 days earlierif you want to breathe right.
T NO DOUBT!
GO CANEZ!!!!!
KROB makes cook and romeo look like vilma and williams.

My bad Calvin. I know better – I might be on the “injured” list for OSU while being suspended for giving up too many details
That’s how you need to go and wake jsq up man, like miller in the 4th quarter.
I can’t see seantrel not being a starter after this year, no way that guy is not on that field, his only obstacle will be his stamina, like lebron james, i didn’t want them in Miami, but since they’re here now, i’m glad they are though. Just for the fact that they both will help add to those teams. The main thing though, seantrel ended up playing where he very well may have wanted to anyway. I’m not sure who wll be where, but all i know is, having an o-line with brandon washington, seantrell henderson, linder, jared wheeler and probably shane mcdermont or whoever else wants to chip in is going to be hell.
Talking about key match-ups, come next week, i’m looking at whoever tyler horn is going up against, because i know brewster gives his d-tackles good work in practice, so that guy/s who he goes up against constantly will be ready, will tyler horn be, i’m thinking he will based on the petri affect.
I’m realizing something, olivier vernon, at his progression rate, he’s on pace to be to the d-line what SEAN TAYLOR was to the secondary. That guy has the ability and that ability to get that many sacks every game if he’s not game planned against. I know bailey has his weight room and physical numbers, but vernon is the most athletic d-linemen we got, he can do it all, i wouldn’t be surprised to see him lead the nation in sacks.
Triple c, i can’t stand hearing that Miami of ohigho, has been throwing me off for years when you hear that name on t.v without looking at it, i always think they getting ready to talk about the real Miami and than it’s those buzzards!
Canez1, WHO is romeo and cook, are those the guys that matt patchan were refering too about alot of players that shouldn’t have ever been offered schalorships too, lol. I remember reading that comment and saying, he’s a 1000% correct, now let’s see if he’s going to come in and help change that.
I agree with everyones point on the de’s keeping contain BUT I think um/shannons defenses in the past have been hurt more by qbs stepping up in the pocket and running…krenzel/osu 02 immediately comes to mind….also a few yrs back Thad Lewis hurt um some by stepping up in the pocket and running…so I think it’s also crucial for ray ray or sleepy to spy tp…also the dt’s not rushing pass the qb is also important…like everyone else I’m jack already bout the osu game and it’s a week away….the only place where I see a real advantage for osu is home field so they should be favored by 3-4 pts…
Nash i think u need a combination of great contain as well as penetration up the middle to keep tp in check.
This game will be one and lost upfront no doubt.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
Speak of the departed linebackers, IMO they were better as frosh’s than they were as 5th yr sr’s…and I remember both of them making plays thinkin where is WILLIE WILLIAMS…lol…
Cal i think it was all a bad dream but krob is givin me flashbacks.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
Canez1, I think we are good with the list I gave you before. Do you still have that?
So freaking excited.
Truth, check your texts before we went to sleep last night. I already translated that ish for you.
Btw, I think it’s AWESOME that my iPhone just tried to auto complete “Aldarius” when I was typing “already.” hahaha
We did a good job at stopping a scrambling QB with GA Tech last year.
We have all the tools. I think this Randy Shannon guy knows a few things about defense, too. The guys just have to give 100% on every play and not let the suckeyes get those big runs or freak pass
completions.
If we do that, the whoreshoe is going to get real quiet, real quick.
Cal,
I think your analysis is right on. Also like that RS held the score down. The first team would have put 70 plus on FAMU easy!
Canez1, you and JSQ got to bring a huge win home to the 305. Starting at 6AM you guys are going to be toast by game time. Those Jello shots are lethal man.
Truth, I enjoyed meeting you Thursday night. I never thought I would meet Bernie Kosar in person. Awesome !
Lol, Randy!!!! I thought Truth was Don Bailey Jr! Lol!
Truth, what was your response to that? Something like “I’m waaaaaay better looking than those dudes!” lmao
The jello shots were more lethal this time because I used some leftover cachaca I had in the house instead of Malibu to make the green ones. We are doing Malibu next week!
I AM so waaaaaaaaay better looking!!!
And you’re going to get a pow pow for using up my cachaca!!!
Tomorrow we have on Manny Navarro on Hurricane Alley. If anyone has any questions for Manny you can call at 646-716-4648 or you can email your questions to me at bgaylor@gmail.com.
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/ufrsports
Best to leave the cachaca drinking to the big boys
Truth, there’s still Cachaca left. But you can still give me a pow pow.
Looking forward to the show, bg!
Canechic, you would have loved the jokes about Danielle on RHONJ last night by Lisa Lampenelli. Soooo funny! Thought of you.
What does anyone know about Keith Brown from Norland, our first commit for 2012?
Btw, this Urban cryer sh!t is making me sick. Afraid to look directly at the tv, I read somewhere that’s how the vampires get you.

What does anyone know about Keith Brown from Norland, our first commit for 2012?
Solid prospect. Was a sophomore at Southridge last year. Had like 97 tackles. Will be interesting to see how he continues to progress. Should be VERY good by the time he’s a senior. Will play for Norland.
Thanks, bg! I read he has a teammate about to pull the trigger as well.

Thanks, bg! I read he has a teammate about to pull the trigger as well.
His teammate is RB Duke Johnson. Very good back. NOT a burner but good speed. EXCELLENT feet changes direction very well. Not very big (5’9 170) but runs bigger than his size. He’s a 2012 kid as well and will only get better. Is not going to pull the trigger YET, his parents want to meet with UM staff first.
Its plenty of tape on Johnson on Youtube.
Bg what happened with chickalo (sp)?

Bg what happened with chickalo (sp)?
He announces on the 9th. I’d expect him to announce MIAMI. I’d be SHOCKED if not.
I know the schedule of games isn’t impressive today, but it feels like a holiday today.
bg, I hope you’re right for several reasons.
JSQ, I love some good Danielle jokes!
But you know she will have a tell all book about how she was mistreated by the other HW!
I can’t even listen to her talk, CC. She is not only crazy but has to be one of the dumbest people alive.
Well, her and Lee Corso.
Cav, can you get your OSWho piece to me today?
Randy i am not leaving that dump without a w.
GO MARVE!!
GO CANEZ!!!!!
Mike, please email me the tailgate pictures you took. Want to use some in tomorrow’s article. Thanks!!!
I like Purdue today. Kelly is starting out with a L.
I like UConn, too. They picked the wrong day to rededicate the stadium.
Any other picks, guys?
MIKE im right there with ya.
I cant get enough of college football live.
This is my time of year.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
UConn and ND will win. Sorry Marve!
Ouch, Pouncy!
Go Miami (Ohio)!
UF’s offense looks like garbage
My upset pick of the week.
NC over LSU
Go ahead call me crazy.
Wow Urban is sweating!
Esophageal spasm alert.
Get the tranquilizer darts ready.
This is HILARIOUS! I love love love love love seeing the crocs losing!
Wasn’t this supposed to be a cupcake game?!
Win or lose, work should be interesting on Tuesday . . . and all season for that matter.
I’m thinking a few people are going to become MIGHTY INTERESTED in the ‘Canes next week.
But the bandwagon is closed. Find another team.
Canesx3, I would love to see UNC win. Especially after Pitt lost. We need that SOS to push us to the top after we beat up on the suckeyes.
JSQ, pics sent.
Penn St. has no speed on defense. Bama’s gonna roll’em.
I just changed the channel to something on E about celebrity plastic surgery gone wrong. Sometimes the crocs do really bad when I change the channel. Here’s hoping.
I dont care if unc wins, but would help acc’s image.
JSQ even if they did just now score at the 9 minute mark in the 2nd qtr. this is considered bad. And I do not want to hear Gator fan say Miami of Ohio is some good team. Lowest offense and lowest defense last year in the NCAA. P.S. you know that crap is coming this week from the gayturd nation.
That Miami of Ohio QB is just Bad.
since Miami (OH)’s coach is black, I won’t be surprised if the gators (fans) actually think that they are playing us…..
LMAO, Caniak!
Canechic, I am hearing the delusional defense of their performance now. I can’t wait until Appalachian State beats them.
Mike, check out tomorrow’s article.
I love love love love love Patrick’s shirt!
Just a heads up to everyone, and you will get another reminder tomorrow,
EOTH will be down for maintenance late Sunday night, probably around 11pm.
I’m just going to do some sprucing up – a little redecorating now that it’s football season.
I like it, Mary.
12 net yards on offense at the half.
I guarantee you the plan was to have Brantley sit by the start of the third quarter.
This is against a 1-11 team MAC team.
Three losses minimum for the crocs this year…and oh yeah, Urban just upped the dose on his anti-psychotic meds.
Wow, Canesx3, I didn’t know they were that bad.
This. Is. Awesome!!!!!
Jello
They’re worse. The score should really be 6-0, Miami. All three croc td’s were gifts.
Not only that, three more croc players were arrested at halftime.
Lmao!
Turds look horrible.
Urban quit at halftime and changed his mind right before they ran back out on the field. Twice.
If not for gahtdam pic Miami oh might be winning here!!!
Let’s go Whatevertheirmastcotis!!!
Canex3, you are on a roll today!
Good Stuff CanesX3!
I’m like my boy CANEZ1…….
All this CFB has got me drooling. My remote is going ham!! I’ll be watching Marve too.
No Tebow=Instant Suck?
(cue sad violin sound)
.
Emergency medical huddle on Gators sideline.
Gator medical team discussing ways to get larger therapeutic doses of anti-psychotic meds into Urban.
Decision was for direct insertion of highly-concentrated gallon-jug enemas of thorazine. Stay tuned.
21-9. Hilarious!!!!
I can’t even believe what I’m seeing. UF’s offense is an embarrassment and defensively they can’t get ANY pressure on the QB of that scrub team.
They should be down in this game. A non pass interference call led to a pick and one of their TDs and another homer call for a non safety saved them another 2 points.
21-9 Gators mid third period.
AZ releases Leinart what a joke…..can you say Cryin Ryan?
Didn’t even mention the other gift TD on the fake put by Miami Ohio that failed.
ROTFL! Cubed will be here all week.
Refs missed a hold on the kickoff.
Cubed, the Waffle House isn’t a primary sponsor of Gator football for no reason!
.
Urban’s very relaxed. Walking kinda funny. But relaxed for the time being.
WIDE RIGHT!!!!
Wow cannot even get a field goal….I am not sure Urban makes it through the season. You see that back run that DL of FL this is just comical!
The dose is being upped again for Urban. Even the tv announcers are worried about his sanity.
The finest rubber room at Shands is being prepared as we speak.
…and yes, Mike, I’ll be here all week.
Turds hurting??? Jus wait till they play a team that can match their athleticism….from the looks on game cast all Brantley does is dump to Rainey or fumble…so much for that proset offense huh??
This is soooo hot. Wow. They are crumbling on national TV.
Popcorn, anyone?
Listen to all those angry jorts-wearing mouth breather booing.
Hey crocs, you need to save hits like that for your girlfriends. You might get away with it in Alachua county, but not on the field.
I can’t say that I am not enjoying this, this is crazy. but me like it. The gators reverts back to form…… LOL
Eye of the Hurricane .net?
More like Gator Hater .net!
If UF goes like this during the SEC schedule, it’s gonna be a long year in Jortsville.
The game may not be great, but at least if you’re a fan at the swamp you can enjoy your ass burning on a blazing hot seat surrouded by hygiene-challenged turd fans and the finest food and amenities available in college football.
I’ll take some JSQ!
Attention Louis Murphy: who is the “real” []_[] again?
I can smell the stink of that stadium through the tv.
Aint nothin like hillbilly stink.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
This is like Christmas!
This is awesome!! Score here and D up.. this games in reach.. go fake miami!
Wait, wasn’t Elam arrested and suspended? It’s hard to keep them all straight.
Unless told otherwise, assume they’ve been arrested.
Anyone do fantasy cfb on cbssports?
I agree with something pb and Nash said.
1) this UF team has a chemistry problem
2) they smoke too much dope during the week
3) complacency is setting in
4) this team looks unfocused and unprepared, not even interested in playing this game
5) the lack of discipline surrounding this program is finally catching up to them
12 bad snaps? 26 total offensive yards? against a 1-11 team from last year?
This team has problems and there is no easy fix.
Lol, Canesx3, you are on fire! I feel like there should be a 2 drink minimum to read the blog right now!
Well the sweat is jumping now.
And then they miss the extra point.
They are going to be so fun to watch this season! This is awesome!!!!
Gaytors suck!!!!!
They suuuuuuuuuccccckkkkk!
GRRRRRR!!!!
JSQ, I’m working on it. I had a bunch of family obligations….
I can’t wait to hear the spin they’ll put on this one.
Thanks, Cav!
No kidding, Pb.
I think USF can beat them next week. Those bulls better spend a lot of time in the film room this week.
I think Tim Tebow is crying somewhere. What’s that saying? Everytime Tebow cries an angel gets its wings?
FSWho is taking care of business.
They WILL beat the crocs this year.
Oh yes, it WILL happen.
That wasn’t holding on Pouncey. He was just stopping the Miami lineman from scooping up a wad of benjamins that fell out of his jersey.
Damn, Canesx3, you have me all riled up and laughing.
How are their players dropping like flies?! This is nuts.
Ew, they just showed an ugly croc child.

Wow..
Miami recovers fumble!
It is funny, even the announcers are making excuses.
Um, we didn’t need a preseason game last year. We went up to Doak and slapped those criminoles in the mouth.
Challenging the fumble recovery.
Pu$$ies.
Ruling on the field is confirmed.
Dumba$$.
In all seriousness, chew on this.
MIAohio has had more impressive offensive drives than the crocs this game…and now a jailbreak run by demps doesn’t count as an impressive drive. Review the drives. You’ll see what I’m saying.
Three losses, minimum.
My email excerpt about setting up the suckeye game watch re: the criminoles playing at the same time:
“I still think you guys should get there at 1:30 because criminoles have no regard for rules and most of them are not literate enough to know what “reserved” means.”
C3.. minimum. Pouncey= undercover nole
They just could not finish the game without one of those!
Lol, Philly!
Bullspit TD.. game was way closer than the score. I hate them! Excited to see Marve and Meeeechigan
Pencil in Brantley on my All-American list. meh
Announcer’s making excuses for the turds. please stop Greise
cc – you’re right. It’s pathetic. They spend three hours coming up with lame excuses for the turds not beating a team they should have beat by at least 40.
I haven’t heard this many excuses since the travel planners for the hindenburg got together.
Oh the humanity!
No Taylor Cook for Rice? Authur Brown?
I’m heading to publix. You should hear the excuses on 560 for why they gayturds sucked balls
Marve about to make his debut!
If Purdue wins, Canez1 might need to clear a shelf for him in the Mariah Carey room!
Same old Robert Marve nothing different there…
He’s looked good so far.
No pb… same ol Marve
^^^What Philly Said^^^
pb, nothing thrown more than 3-4 yards down field until the pick…
The real test is if he’s truly improved, whats his stats look like from 7-15 yard throws and longer, where he actually has to read a defense.
0-1, 1 INT so far
Brian Kelly makes a DIFFERENCE!
Cierre Wood is a BALLA!
Impressed with ND. The leader DOES matter. Brian Kelly got them boyz looking RIGHT!

Peebs, I doubted you calls for eminent Gator implosion but after seeing some of this game, I’m beginning to think you’re right on target. I’m going to watch the entire game later tonight.
Is it me or are some of these top 10 teams not jumping out on top of these lesser opponents like we did?? Sure we can look at a couple missed tackles but can we really complain with the way we handled famu compared to the gaytors, gt, texas, etc…
Some of these teams won pretty big Ie. GT, but they didnt jump on there opponents like we did famu. We left no doubts
Another example WVU only up 7 at the end of the first
Til that throw…
This aint fatass’ nd anymore. U can tell by the execution and playcalling . Its kelly all the way. Dude is legit.
Lets calm down with the turd bashing. They are going to be allright. Way too much talent.
Also settledown with the marve crap. Kids a balla. Remember his team sucks ass.
Dont hate. He is all they have.
GO MARIAH!!!!
GO CANEZ!!!!!
Cav the pattern is irrefutable. The Gators looked EXACTLY like the team we had that lost to Tennessee the year after we humiliated them in Tennessee the year before.
The expectation of success simply because you put on the uniform was rampant with us, then later with USC and now with UF.
The whole inmates running the asylum mentality is so similar as well. Meyer freaking played Elam today after he got arrested for underage drinking less than a month ago for God’s sake.
The coach has no control and the leaders who built it are all gone.
That team they played was so bad they actually gave the game away. A 500 team beats the Gators soundly today.
Go back to pass.
Lock on to one reciever. If open, throw the ball.
If covered, either force the ball in or run.
Repeat.
The more things change the more they stay the same. I like the kid, and I hope he gets it together, but I always thought he relied too much on his athleticism.
Major improvement in ND from last year to this year. In 2012, 2013, and 2014 the rivalry TRULY will live again.
agreed, bg
.
Calm down on turd bashing? No way. It’s a lifestyle choice…and I’ve chosen.
That play by Marve looked just like us vs Duke when he got YANKED!
Very impressed with ND. They will be a force to be dealt with.
I hope ND gets better. I am so looking forward to those two games. Maybe more than any game I can remember.
For those of you too young to remember, that was THE rivalry in college football 25 years ago.
Yes sir PB! My in-law played for ND then. Also we play them 3 years. In Chicago, at ND, then at Miami.
Marve looks like he’s getting in a rhythm now.
Forgot about the “neutral” sight game. I will travel for that one no matter what.
Say what you want, Marve is some athlete.
He is, bg. I hope he does well, but at the end of the day his game is more about athleticism than reading defenses.
Bubble screen. Look familiar?
I was a big Golden Tate fan, and I’m also a big Malcolm Floyd fan.
If I hear one more Ooooh God Storm is going to transfer rumor or someone else ask me I’m going to puke!
Don’t hurt me bg, but why the rumors?
bg, who was i telling about Florida and their running game minus Tebow?
and about having no pass rushers?
Hurri.
Apparently Joe Rose said something and now media even the national media is jumping on it and running. He probably was upset he didn’t play ther other night, BUT, I heard he was suspended. Truth, can you clarify? Its a lot of season left, and if he redshirts, he redshirts. Kids have to stop taking that to mean something negative.
Esteban,
We were telling Wil at UFR that!
bg, no one was following Brantley when he faked like he was running. They need to start having him run it so teams will honor it. Otherwise its going to be tough for Demps. Even if Brantley does run it teams will probably let him do that and just keep focusing on Demps since Brantley ain’t going to break nothing.
Too true bg,
Kids (and select media outlets) speak on redshirting like its a year sentence in the clink. I mean let’s think of some of the great Canes of all time that shirted, let alone college players, period.
Este i agree. U cant run the spread effectively with a qb that is no threat to run.
I would be pissed the fuk off if i were storm. Dude is a three and out talent and he aint lookin to rs.
The days of holding on to ur precious 8th year seniors are over king blandy.
Get with the times son.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
i thought Storm was one of the names talked about as being “hurt” all of the sudden. I’m guessing he’s dressed up this week. Now how deep we go at RB this week won’t be the same as last week.
C1.
I disagree. You can’t have “ball” divas on your team. If Storm pouts and gets his way, other players will do the same. He’s special but he’s not above the team. No player is.
Also Coop looks a bit hesitant so Storm COULD take those minutes IF they are to be had. All we’ve had are practice reports. Lets see what happens when the bullets are live.
O wait let me guess.
His blocking isnt up to par.
Nevermind…..
GO CANEZ!!!!!
C1.
Like I tell everyone else.
Trust the coaches.
And honestly that may be it. The hardest thing for RBs to pick up at the next level is protection.
Bg i have a tuff time with trust lol ive seen to many things.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
My ideal rb trio would be berry, miller and storm.
Mike james does not impress me. Throw him back to fb.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
BG is 100% correct. Nobody is above the team & trust the coaches.
Coops getting blandy sympathy carries when he is OBVIOUSLY not ready to be out there.
Drives me nuts. It was jj last year and so on and so on.
Just cant take it.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
I never said anyone was above the team.
Not sure where that came from.
That goes without saying.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
C1.
You never know what Coop caould do until he played. The best game to TEST him FAMU. The stretch is here now. I wouldn’t be surprised to NOT see Coop. Plus you upperclassmen have EARNED a level of respect and loyalty from the coaches. Storm hasn’t EARNED anything yet on Saturdays. When he does, he’ll be respected!
Also told you ND would win.
bg, you were correct.
All U ever NEEDED TO KNOW ABOUT ROBERT MARVE AND HID QB’ING ABILITY, you saw in the last couple of drives for Purdue.
He’s NOT a winning QB. Pure and simple.
Randy Shannon made the right choice. If you can’t see that, there’s no talking to you.
Peebs, I think you’re spot on. Oscar’s bitten off much more than he can chew. This will be interesting.
Canez1, I agree about Cooper not looking ready. He needs to RS and stop trying to be tough man. He’s nowhere near 100%. Long-term he needs to be smart. He’ll get some minutes but it’s not like he’s goling to get minutes this year anyway.
Storm SHOULD take whatever minutes Cooper may have gotten. To me, he should returns KOs and be the deep-threat like Miller is to complement Berry and James tougher running.
If anything Shannon’s wanting to push him a littler harder. I honestly don’t see the real reason to RS him since Berry’s leaving next year and he’ll be better than Berry soon enough. Let him and Miller return KOs and get minutes.
With our schedule I would not leave a weapon like him on the shelf. I’ll be a little disappointed with Shannon about this UNLESS there’s something we don’t know that he’s trying to pull out of Storm.
Love coop dont get me wrong but he is not close to being ready to cut with that knee. If you cant see that from watching him everyday in practice you have other issues to deal with.
Rsing a kid with three year talent so u can make room for sympathy run isnt a great move imo.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
Randy knows football.
So far, we’ve looked the best. It’s good watching some of these games so people can see that a few missed tackles ain’t much to complain about. Of course Team Shannon will drill it home but we look GOOD, to quote Charlie Boy. haha
And who’s to say its Randy? Cassano??? Whipple???
WE LOOK GOOD!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANpephxhcEo
Nice, succint, and true.
Cav no doubt. Get your best players on the field one way or another and good things happen.
Coops a soldier and weathered the shittiest of times but this aint intramurals brother.
Coop is probably 5th on the depth chart and is hurt on top of that so he has no business getting run.
I would be pissed too if i was storm and broke my ass and balled all fall to see gimpy mgee out there while im in street clothes.
F that. More squandered talent. No worries we can afford it, right.

4real…if the best thing for the team is to play storm do ppl not think he would do it…lol…sometime I think c1 says stuff to get ppl fired up…lol…and any1 can book this…um WILL need COOP b4 this season ends!!!!
Marve.
Purdue offensive coaching staff I’m impressed with. Here’s why.
They know the limitations of their QB.
Rolling out so many times, does and proves a couple of things.
1) it takes advantage of Marve’s running ability
2) it divides the reads for the QB, cutting the field into thirds, making reads for QB into high/low. Easy read. If there’s not an open receiver, run.
If Marve was the QB last year in Tally, we have no chance. No way UM comes back with him at the helm. We lose to Wake. Jacory came in and cleaned up his messes, and if RS sticks with Marve in 2008, we’re 5-7.
Purdue did NOT attack the the ND secondary. He never sat in the pocket and was asked to diagnose coverage. J12 can do that. Marve CAN’T.
Storm didn’t NOT dress to light a fire under his azz. I’m sure he didn’t dress for the same reasons Futch et al didn’t dress. I expect him to break-out in some way against OSU and force Shannon not RS him.
Quietly, I’d give Clements minutes before Cooper. Clements looks like a young Portis.
JSQ, you have mail.
If u think the king doesnt make all final decisions regarding HIS team ur nuts.
During his tenure there have been a hundred different coaches here yet the pattern of questionable moves remains.
He is the end all be all no doubt.
GO CANEZ!!!!!

And after two years, you have to wonder if he ever will. Just for kicks and giggles, ND beat Purdue 24-21 last year. They also played well on offense in almost every game. Defense is what sucked and ultimately cost fat boy his job.
Maybe something all of us know nothing about….is why Storm Johnson didn’t play.
Also RS has made it clear that he has not decided whether or not to red shirt Johnson. I don’t know how clear he has to make it to the Hurricane fans. He has consistently said he doesn’t have to make a decision until the fourth game.
People gettin their panties in a wad over nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nash trust me i wish i was just trying to fire peeps up. Not me and not my style.
I call em like i see em and if people dont see it that way im cool with that. Im not lookin for sheep.
I have seen too many things go down here that make me question shyte.
Bg and cav are my boys and we often dont see eye to eye. If we did what fun would that be???
Blandy has his stubborn ass ways and they are quite obvious.
If you choose to make up excuses for him regardless then that is your thing. Not mine.
I dont let shyte slide. Its not my nature.
Orange and green goggles can be blinding at times
GO CANEZ!!!!!
Jacksonville St. just beat Ole Miss WOW
Marve wishes he had a pocket to sit back in. The dude was running for his life the whole game.
Dude made some pretty good decisions on the run if you ask me. His OL looks pretty much like ours did when he was here.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
Canez 1 did you watch the gator game today?
CC I did. They looked pretty bad but i dont put much stock in that. Brantley is a stud but he is a first year starter so he will be up and down and probably cost them a couple games.
They have a ton of talent so that will carry them. Alot of adjusting to do.
They get a mulligan this year and will be back next year unleas urbie croaks and they fall apart.
Still hate them tho
GO CANEZ!!!!!
Canez1,
Purdue rolled out RM for a reason.
yeah, the Purdue o-Line isn’t good, but they rolled him out 75% of the time.
Think, man, think.
Yes I think they have talent but no focus, if it stays that bad I think urban fain illness and get the heck out of dodge.
Marve don’t sit in pockets anyway.
CANEZ1,
You speak the truth, and sometimes the truth hurts.
But you DO NOT try to convert, and you always explain your opinions in an evenly keeled fashion.
Hard to hate a guy like that.
My most favorite phrase of all time:
“and here come the beavers!”
Lord, don’t I wish…
C1 why do u call a coach that wants players to follow the rules stubborn dawg?? I guess ud rather him let them boyz run amuck like in times past??
Mike purdue is putting their best player in the best places to succeed. If that means rolling him out then so be it. If he had a proper pocket and. Proper throwing lanes his height would not be an issue so much but when it is a jail break every play u gotta do what u gotta do. Marve sat in the pocket and delivered strikes when he was given the chance. However Marve thrives on the sprint out pass plays and has since hs and is very accurate on the run. Conform ur scheme to your players. Dont wait for ur players to conform to u.
Cc they def looked out of sorts on o. It all rolls down from the qb. He will look like a stud one play and rix the next until he gets a hold of game speed and just let it roll. Happens all the time with first year qb’s.
Hurri lol MY BOY! to each his own. I appreciate all views if they ae backed with reason but i cant just follow along because someone says to blindly trust. Not my thing especially when i see otherwise time and time again.
Nash not sure what u r talking about. I never said anything like that. Discipline is THE most important aspect of a succesful team. Without it u are lost. Not sure where ur coming from on that one.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
Canez1…
I commended the PU coaching staff for that very same thing. Knowing the limitations.
They, PU, NEVER attacked the ND secondary. NOT ONCE. Sure, his cptln % was high, but he’s a paper tiger. He threw the ball three times over 10 yards. Completed one.
WHAT DOES THAT SAY?
The PU coaching staff DOES NOT TRUST RM to throw down field. Or to read the defense.
He doesn’t have “IT.”
J12 does. He has, “IT.”
A suckeye bartender jus refused to serve me at the concert. We all moved aside and told him he would get served next week.
I f’ing HATE oswho!
That stinks JSQ! Oh well he is the one missing a good tip or not, lol
Cav, I just responded.
Btw, I haven’t been around this many rednecks since jortsville in 08!!!
Mike pu stinks. Lets not try and compare two completely different situations.
If u think marve stinks have at it. I disagree.
J12 is a totally different animal.
They are both talented imo.
J12 is the qb for my canez so of course there is a bias there. All i say is i love what marve brings to the field. Thats all.
If you dont agree so be it.
To say he doesnt have “it” seems a little premature. Remember he sat out a year and is in a brand new offense as well. Not really fair to call him a bust at this point imo.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
I didn’t say he was a bust. He has a chance to improve.
This is the 2nd year in this offense.
What do U love about not being able to throw down field? And throwing bubble screens on 3rd and 18?
Sorry, Marve is a losing QB. I guess we’ll agree to disagree.
Canez1, what questionable moves on those squads?? haha That’s called trying to make chicken-shyt look like something else. Once he’s stocked his players here it’s been straight away.
But Shannon’s not doing anything or following any principals that JJ didn’t follow.
Shannon’s record for getting more out of players and developing them speaks for itself to me, this year especially. These boys look like they’re ready to dominate.
LSU SUCKS!!!! I see how PSU beat them in that muddy bowl game. Their playcalling is pee-wee league. Their defense is solid but UNC isn’t doing anything but nickle UNC is solid but not impressive or dangerous. They actually look like a Big Ten team…big and slow.
TCU is a solid but a joke at #6. They have that one good RB though #34. Even if they win they’re still a joke to me. Oregon St’s QB is making his first start.
I haven’t watched Bama and TX but right now I haven’t seen a team as crisp and talented.

Jacksonville St. just beat Ole Miss WOW
>>>>>
Yeah, that’s pretty funny. haha
The SEC officially SUCKS!! haha
Canez1, I hope he does well. I like his passion for the game. It’ll be interesting to see how he grows as the year continues.

>>>>>>
Good points. Knowing Shannon he must want to see something more, a little something more somewhere. Or Cassano and Whipple want the same thing as Shannon.
I think Storm will respond in these first four games and Team Shannon will want to have his talent out there and available for this schedule.
Finally the jello shot recipe…..I guess better late then never:
You need 2 packets of lime jello..make the jello as listed on the directions, use 1/2 cup more sugar, and use 1/2 cup less water.
Substitute bacardi limon for that 1/2 cup water, and use a total of 2 cups bacrdi limon rum.
Finely chop some mint leaves, and stir into the mix.
Make sure to keep stirring the mix while pouring into jello shot cups.
Chill and enjoy!!!
.
Not trying to get anyone riled up, but Marve will not be the starter by the end of the season.
His decision making ability completely sucks as evidenced by his unsportsmanlike penalty after scoring the TD (flip into the endzone).
It’s a close game, and that TD gets Purdue into striking range. He screws his own team thinking about himself. You know every D1 coach has told their players a MILLION times not do flips or excessibly celebrate.
He only did this for one of the following reasons:
1. He forgot about the rule in the excitement of scoring the TD. If so, he’ll never be qb-leaderhsip material. He’s the qb, he’s supposed to be the leader in judgement and football intellect. That bush move proves he has neither.
2. He knows the rule but doesn’t care. Then he’s only interested in himself and could care less about the position he put his team in. Again, not qb material.
3. He forgot or didn’t remember the rule. Then he’s just plain dumb and shouldn’t be a starting qb on d-1 team.
Hate to say it, but with that one play he confirmed all my worst suspicions about him.
Cubed, couldn’t agree more.
Marve doesn’t have a professional future. He’s too limited and can’t read a defense. He’s TERRIBLE.
In BLANDY WE TRUST. I MEAN, Randy.
WWRSD?
I am with you Cx3. I just think he has issues in the head, not a leader type.
I know we don’t get any pleasure in saying this because he was a spirited player when he was here, and I have a soft spot for him, but I agree with you both.
I think that Storm Might be the X-factor this season..
So far, I see no reason for Us not to go undefeated and win it all. I have yet to watch Bama and TX, so we’ll see.
Oregon had 720 yds of offense today.
Mike why dont u tell us about jacorys nfl future??
Cant wait to hear this one because there is no future there for him.
Not sure were all the sensitivity is coming from. I like marve as a football player. Who gives a fuk?
Is jacory a better college qb at this point? No doubt.
Is miami a better team than pu? No doubt.
Not sure what all the fuss is about. Bash the kid if u want i could care less. I choose not to.
Tired of talking about it so im done and really who the f cares……
Its all good boys cause there is only one thing in cfb i give a fuk about and that is my canez. Nothing else matters!!!!
Tsg we can only hope.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
Last Cane QB to beat OSU was Kenny Kelly!
Go Canes!
UNC really trying to make a game out of this. I’m soooo tired but I have to watch this.
Is anyone watching this game!!??
Just got home KL, tuning in now!
Yates 403 yards throwing! There two recievers look good and thats witout Little.. LSU d looks bad
I’m with ya, Mike.
Wow! Yes I am watching. 6 seconds left. Will they score? There TE is dirty
This game has been unbelievable. 2 seconds left. UNC on the LSU 6. LSU 30 UNC 24
TE blew it twice
Brent Musburger said it: LSU survived this game.
Wow, the SEC blows more than their cheerleaders
Hahahahahahaaaa that’s awesome!
Ok I need to get some sleep. I’m still dragging butt from Thursday. It sucks getting old.
How about choosing not to bash RS. It is what it is, a choice, I think a mirror is what is called for here!
I think I missed something but we decided tonight that Toby Keith’s “Beer for My Horses” is about the crocs. It lists several reasons for their arrests in the beginnig:
A man come on the six o’clock news said somebody’s been shot, somebody’s been abused
somebody blew up their building, somebody stole their car, somebody got away, somebody didn’t get too far
he forgot the stolen laptop but everything else is basically in there.
We raised up our glasses against evil forces (like the people with no teeth there with croc shirts on and the dude that is having esophogial spasms right now who coaches them) and said whiskey for our men, beer for our horses.
Great song. Reminds me of E-4 at the Orange Bowl. Good memories!!!!
Ok, I figured it out.
I wish Marve the best. I was rooting for him and Purdue today.
Am I glad Jacory is our QB instead of him? F yes!
I don’t think we all disagree that much.
Except I love Randy Shannon and Jacory Harris.
Was I able to enjoy a concert tonight with people who don’t like Randy?
Yes. After a rum runner.
Let’s just all get along and save this fighting for whenI throw down on Canez1 in Columbus.
Just don’t bring Mariah. I’m not scared of you, honey but that b!tch is crazy!
Love love love you guys. Remember we’re all on the same team.
Good night!!!
I’m not sensitive, Canez1. Simmer down.
As far as J12′s NFL prospects… He’s a work in progress.
He’s obviously gained weight, and this has given himself the ability to get more zip on the ball. His accuracy is good, and his touch is excellent. Hard to coach touch.
This season will tell the story of his prospect.
1) He runs a pro-style attack, which is a plus.
2) He diagnoses defenses well. Good understanding of the game. Good under pressure. Cool under pressure.
3) Good escapeability in the pocket. Adequate athleticism. Can extend the play if needed (and rolling out)
4) Prototype frame. Will gain weight as he matures, which will put more distance and zip on throws.
5) Good accuracy. Hits WRs in stride and delivers a catchable ball.
6) team player. Not a potential locker room problem.
7) film room junkie, High football IQ
1) Needs to work on getting rid of the ball quicker
2) Needs to cut down on INTs, takes too many chances
3) Not very strong
4) would like to see him call more audibles at the LOS
5) does not possess an elite arm at this point. This will most likely improve as he matures physically.
If J12 didn’t improve over the course of this season… as he stands now, I would predict a 6th or 7th round pick. But he will, and he will return for his Sr. season, and play his way into a 3rd or 4th round pick. (Unless he loses his mind his Sr. season, maybe a 2nd round pick)
He must show an elite arm to be taken any higher, IMO
Folks laughed at me when I told them last year that Coop was a 2nd round talent.
Who’s laughing now? Not Todd McShay.
when Coop is a 2nd round pick i’ll believe it.
Jacory has another year after this one to improve his draft stock. and if Colt McCoy can be drafted in the 3rd round then i could see Jacory potentially sneaking into the 2nd. at least he plays in a pro style.
and if Pennington can play as a starter as long as he did with ZERO arm strength it gives other weak armed guys hope.
what’s your assessment, Este? on J12?
Mike, i would give one, but by the end of this year it would probably be a lot different. and by the end of next year different again. just will save it for when he’s done. we know though right now accuracy, command, and poise are his strong points.
fair enough.
I got a question for tomorrow night.
CMac. Is he the answer at MLB? Looked to me a bit timid…
http://eyeofthehurricane.net/wordpress/2010/05/10/miami-hurricanes-football-bruce-feldman-espn-part2/
was Bruce Feldman a prophet?
I meant to give a shout out to dvd, cause it seems like on that play where ray ray picked that pass off and scored, dvd was in position to get his 1st real legit college interception too as well. ray ray robbed FAMU and dvd.
As far as the storm johnson argument goes, i kow this much, lamar miller got redshirted last year for good reasons. storm johnson, he’s a borderline redshirt candidate, and has already made his way inside the shannon dog house. Yall already know how the players say shannon got eyes and ears all over the place right. So when shannon found out about storm complaining about possibly not getting enuff playing time or transferring, you already know how shannon is going to deal with that, cause the main thing is, storm knew just like everybody else the depth chart here, but don’t get antsy and start crying outside of UM and than that gets back to shannon, he’ll play a guy like coop, lesss talented and hurt, but loyal and a guy who gives it his all over a guy who’s basically not fully committed to UM.
I don’t care who you play, to be up 42 to 0 at halftime, that’s being sharpe, i’m telling yall that fsu game is going to be another one of those old time classics. Could be a shoot out like last year, if our defense and running game continues to improve though, won’t be much alot of teams can do. Games like fsu is where the stars on the team with have to continue to turn up all over the field. Now that unc has all of their players suspended, that was a game i was one of the games i was looking forward too, that 1 and the fsu games, while i want to see us play ohio st. but the unc and fsu games were the ones that got me excited the most. I’m tired of seniors getting suspended, just tink how austin and crew could’ve went to the draft this year, now instead they are sitting on the sidelines suspended.
The main thing that’ll count against fsu this year and all the teams we play is what shannon envisioned when he took over and that’s having a dominant d-line again, we will continue to get pressure on ponder this year and force him to run, which he can do both real good, i’ve never heard them refer to ponder as a dual threat qb, that guy is just as dangerous throwing as he is running it. Going to be fun watching them and us meet on this collision course.
New blog up!
TX SUCKS!!! haha Rice drove the length of the field on their first possession, got it inside the ten then their RB made a stupid play and tried to reverse the field when he was near the five, ended up being tackled at the 20. Rice kicked the FG. Then TX gets the ball, drives down the field with solid run-blocking for their slow-azz, should be a FB, #31, only to get stuffed FOUR TIMES by Rice at the goal line. Rice gets the ball back, throws an INT, so now TX has the ball inside the 30 again, and calls 3 stupid to average playcalls, a reverse, a screen, and a five yard out to the TE, all of which are stuffed for no gain or a loss. Game tied at 3 with 12 minutes left in the 2ndQ.
TX’s playcalling is ABYSMAL. As corny and predictable as LSU’s. How these men get paid so much money to put this shyt on the field is amazing. It’s like pee-wee league shyt. TX’s D looks ok.
UNC showed good heart but LSU really let them back in the game. Yates is looking good. We’ll have to get him out of his little comfort zone back there, like LSU did at times.
Jacory just needs more velocity. That will come with leg and core strength. He still has another 15 pounds of muscle to add to that frame y’all. He’ll need another three years to add it though.
